Structural Engineer Job Description BE Structural is searching for a qualified structural engineer to perform local residential and commercial forensic investigations. The structural engineer will perform field visits, make safety recommendations, report back on structural onsite findings and form recommendations for structural repair. We’re looking for a detail-oriented problem-solver with a project management background. Responsibilities · This is on an as-needed basis depending on the assignments received; paid under 1099 · Perform field visits and write reports detailing project viability and progress · Occasionally perform structural calculations · Write reports and use company photograph log tool to create photograph logs after performing an onsite assessment Skills and qualifications · Professional Structural Engineering License relevant to state of employment · Strong technical background in structural design · Deep knowledge of construction materials and methodologies · Problem-solving skills to quickly address issues that arise on-site and keep projects on track Preferred qualifications · Insurance and/or litigation experience is a plus · Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with both residential and commercial clients · Experience with design software, like AutoCAD or Revit · Project management experience · Working knowledge of compliance, zoning, and building legislation · Experience in a leadership role Job Types: Full-time, Part-time License/Certification: Professional Engineer License (Preferred) Ability to Relocate: Albuquerque, NM 87115: Relocate before starting work (Required) Willingness to travel: 50% (Preferred) Work Location: In person
