Structural Design Engineer Position Summary:
Quantum Consulting Engineers, a premier structural engineering firm in downtown Seattle, is seeking a talented and motivated Structural Design Engineer with a minimum of 2 to 6 years of relevant experience to join our growing team. As a Structural Design Engineer, you will contribute to the design of a variety of residential and commercial building types and structures in various materials, including concrete, steel, masonry, and wood-frame construction. We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills, a strong technical background, and a passion for structural engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with our team of engineers and architects to design structural systems for diverse residential and commercial projects.
- Perform detailed calculations, analyses, and design development for a wide range of structural systems and materials.
- Contribute to the evaluation of existing structures and develop innovative solutions to improve their performance.
- Support the development of seismic design strategies and detailing for building structures.
- Participate in the preparation of design documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project team members to ensure project success.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in structural engineering.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering.
- A minimum of 4 to 6 years of relevant structural engineering experience, preferably in a consulting environment.
- Knowledge of structural analysis and design techniques, including experience in concrete, steel, masonry, and wood-frame construction.
- Familiarity with structural detailing and seismic design principles.
- Experience with building code requirements and their practical application.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
- Professional Engineering (PE) or (SE) license is preferred, but not required.
Compensation & Benefits:
- A competitive salary ranging from $95,000 to $130,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
