Opportunity Summary
LSSNCA invites qualified individuals to submit proposals for a Strategic Business Development Consultant role. This is a contract position with the potential to transition into a permanent executive leadership role, contingent on consultant interest, organizational needs, and Board approval. The consultant will lead a forward-thinking effort to position LSSNCA for strategic growth, diversification, and sustainability.
Scope of Work
The Consultant Will
Identify LSSNCA’s core competencies and propose how they can be applied to new service populations beyond refugees and immigrants
Conduct a market analysis to:
Identify and evaluate target markets for LSSNCA expansion
Assess needs and trends in those markets
Define LSSNCA’s unique value proposition within them
Develop a strategic business plan that includes:
A growth strategy blending fee-for-service; federal, state, and local government grants; foundation funding; and corporate sponsorships
A roadmap to diversify program offerings, expand populations served, and strengthen the breadth and depth of current services
Strategies for program development, implementation, and evaluation, particularly in the areas of family preservation and behavioral health
Advise on opportunities to braid public and private funding sources effectively
Organizational Structure and Development Consulting to operate new programs
Desired Qualifications
Proven experience in strategic business development in a nonprofit or mission-aligned sector
Expertise in program design and evaluation, organizational development, implementation of evidence-based practices, funding models, and behavioral health or family preservation services
Strong track record of market research and business planning
Familiarity with fee for service, federal, state and local government grants, philanthropic funding, and social enterprise models
Relevant connections in the Washington, DC Metro area and available for onsite meetings as needed
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills
