Job Summary

This leader is responsible for personal sales, store sales goals, leading a team, managing operations, delivering an exceptional customer experience, and implementing strategies to achieve revenue goals. Total Compensation Range: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, paid bi-weekly + bonus opportunities on monthly store performance goals

What's Important To Us In a Store Manager

Responsible for the profit and loss of a store located in our La Z Boy Southwest region retail stores. Lead, coach, and develop a team of sales associates, designer(s) and support staff to ensure they uphold our vision, mission, leadership attributes and values of the company. Implement and oversee all company initiatives, drive sales and metric growth. Responsible for meeting budgets, sales goals, and driving business metrics to reach overall goals. Continue to support, preserve, and sustain our values of Courage, Curiosity, and Compassion

Key Responsibilities

  • Completion of necessary tasks to ensure that the staff, both Sales and Operational, are fully trained to do their job to the highest standards of La-Z-Boy Southwest which will consist of idea generation, store standard work reviews, assessments, and evaluations of all store personnel.
  • Operates as the point person for driving company initiatives within the market. Helps to drive adherence to the company business plan.
  • Holds meetings and calls to evaluate and drive sales metrics and works with the MSM and store teams to make sure they understand how to drive growth in each metric and routinely coach on improvement.
  • Responsible for the P&L performance and reviews each fiscal period statement and coaches for improvement of behaviors which will drive results.
  • Works with store employees on Standard work sales process, product knowledge, and helps to train on different programs.

Key Standards of Performance:

  • Logged Coaching monthly and quarterly objective setting with team
  • Supervises and directs employees’ daily work activities
  • Hiring, terminations, and corrective action
  • Maintain staffing levels
  • Ensure all Sales Associates are active with our In-Home Design Program
  • Quality of regular evaluation process
  • Adherence to policies and procedures

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related/relevant experience is preferred
  • Two (2) to five (5) years sales experience with a proven track record of success is preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Strong understanding of the 4 Key Systems of Lean Principles
  • Endorsed by your current Manager

Preferred Requirements

  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and a track record of experience in building effective and productive working relationships.
  • Proven analytical ability utilizing information technologies in managing the business to translate into strategic plans.
  • Proven history of managing and improving a team’s performance and productivity.

Pay: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, paid bi-weekly + bonus opportunities on monthly store performance goals

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

  • Provide guidance, training, and support to sales teams to improve sales techniques, strategies, and overall performance.
  • Responsible for leading and supervising the entire employee life cycle, including recruitment selection, training, and development and succession planning by cultivating and maintaining a top-performing team.
  • Enhance employee engagement and nurture a positive workplace culture and build effective teams.
  • Communicates effectively.

Process

  • Achieve or surpass store and annual operating benchmarks.
  • Evaluate team performance, objectives, and behaviors to determine effectiveness.
  • Model the highest standards for surpassing customer expectations. Learn, model and teach established sales and design processes.
  • Sustain store profitability by maintaining profit and loss statements, financial metrics, and margins.

Brand Advocacy

  • Model and teach product knowledge.
  • Champion the company’s brand strategy and first-in-class customer experience.
  • Align merchandizing, pricing and product flow to company standards.
  • Uphold brand visual standards in the store by ensuring cleanliness in employee and customer areas.

Operations

  • Leverages store visit forms.
  • Hosts regular weekly, monthly and quarterly meetings with staff.
  • Ensure proper execution of all existing and new systems and administrative procedures.
  • Collaborate with support teams to ensure flawless execution of operational excellence.
  • Adhere to legal and efficient accounting procedures.
  • Plan and execute sales promotion and events along with projects as needed for the improvement of the market and company.

Scope & Impact

This position holds significant influence over the store's financial health, team morale and development, operational efficiency, and the overall customer experience and reputation in the community. Store revenue up to 5 million per year and leadership of up to 15 direct reports.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: up to 10 direct reports

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Nearly continuous use of repetitive hand motions, hearing and listening.
  • Often required to sit, walk, bend and stoop
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions
  • Ability to pass background and drug screen.
