Job Description

The Store Design and Visual Manager is responsible for designing and executing compelling in-store visual merchandising strategies that enhance the customer experience and drive sales. This role involves creating detailed store maps, merchandise layouts, and visual displays for apparel and hardline merchandise across multiple store locations. The position collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure visual standards align with the brand’s identity and business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement store maps, fixture plans, and merchandise layouts to optimize traffic flow and maximize sales.
  • Design compelling apparel and hardline merchandise displays that align with seasonal trends and brand aesthetics.
  • Utilize planogram software to create and execute effective product placement strategies.
  • Ensure visual merchandising standards are maintained across all retail locations.
  • Create detailed visual merchandising plans using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, SketchUp, and AutoCAD for store layouts and display mockups.
  • Develop and manage planograms using software such as JDA Space Planning (Blue Yonder), Nielsen Spaceman, or SmartDraw to optimize product placement.
  • Prepare visual merchandising guidelines, reports, and presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint, Canva, Adobe InDesign, and Google Docs/Microsoft Word.
  • Work closely with buying, marketing, and store operations teams to align visual merchandising with business objectives.
  • Provide visual merchandising training and guidance to store teams to ensure execution consistency.
  • Analyze store performance data and adjust merchandising strategies based on sales trends and customer insights.

Skills And Knowledge

Ability to thrive in a high growth and entrepreneurial environment where strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities are a must, Excellent project management and prioritization skills, delegates as needed, within an ever-changing environment, Proficiency in Adobe Creative (InDesign) and Microsoft Office (Excel) suites, Strong understanding of retail trends, consumer behavior, and product presentation techniques

Qualifications

Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Visual Merchandising, Retail Management, Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of experience in visual merchandising, store planning, or retail display design.

Preferred Qualifications - Experience in multi-store retail visual merchandising. Knowledge of hardline and apparel product display strategies. Familiarity with data-driven merchandising decision-making.

Physical - Work is typically performed in an office but projects may sometimes take the employee to a non-standard workplace; Requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards; Must have the ability to lift and small carry parcels, packages and other items up to 25lbs, and to walk short distances
