About the Company - Addison Group is working with a growing Law Firm in search for a Storage Engineer to join their team! This is a 6 month contract to hire position and is hybrid/onsite in their Walnut Creek office. Please apply to be considered.



About the Role - We are looking for a Storage Manager who will lead a newly created team focusing solely on storage and systems. This person will own everything storage and be responsible for making sure the physical data center is in order. Eventually, this person will help to hire personnel under them to take on more of the individual contributor tasks, but in the meantime, he/she should be willing and able to do the actual rack and stacking of equipment in the data center.

This is a contract-to-hire role looking to start at as soon as possible. Must be willing to work onsite in a hybrid capacity in the East Bay.



Qualifications:

Storage Systems: Experience with SAN (Storage Area Networks), NAS (Network Attached Storage), and DAS (Direct Attached Storage).

Storage Protocols: Knowledge of Fiber Channel (FC), iSCSI, NFS, CIFS/SMB, and Object Storage (S3).

Storage Hardware & Vendors: Hands-on experience with technologies from vendors like NetApp, Dell EMC, Cohesity, HPE, etc.

Storage Virtualization: Experience with VMware vSAN, IBM SVC, or other virtualization solutions.

Storage Performance Tuning: Understanding of RAID levels, SSD/HDD performance differences, IOPS, latency, and throughput optimization.

Capacity Planning & Monitoring: Familiarity with tools like Splunk, or vendor-specific monitoring solutions.

Data Security: Knowledge of encryption (at rest/in transit), access control, and storage security best practices.

Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with HIPAA, GDPR, PCI-DSS, and other data protection standards.

Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose storage performance issues and system failures.

Collaboration: Experience working with DevOps, Networking, and Security teams to design and implement storage solutions.

Project Management: Participation in storage migrations, upgrades, or disaster recovery planning.
