The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a Production Stage Manager-Audio-Visual to be responsible for executing all aspects of Audio and Video operations and the coordination of technical elements for productions and events. This position manages stage operations, over-hire, stagehands, and crew. In addition, this position serves as Sound Board and Video Operator responsible for overseeing audio and video crews, facilitating audio and video load ins, maintaining technical department equipment, work areas, and other responsibilities as assigned. The production stage manager assists with stage setup and production, equipment needs, manages stage operations, manages over-hire, stagehands, and crew, provides general technology support, and has other responsibilities as assigned. This position provides technical services for live events, various programs, and meetings.
(Hourly Rate: $17.00 - $25.00)
Bachelor's degree in Music Technology, Theater/Production, Audio/Visual or a related field and five (5) years of related work experience. Work experience may substitute for the education requirement.
Knowledge and proficiency with digital mixing consoles, DANTE audio networks, Qlab, managing wireless microphones, producing audio recordings. Knowledge and proficiency with projection, video switchers, live streaming, video conversion, PTZ camera systems, producing video recordings. Strong knowledge of computer applications in Windows and Mac environments, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Office 365 applications (OneDrive, Teams, etc), Qlab, OBS. Working knowledge of networking A/V equipment. Job frequently requires standing, walking, reaching, climbing or balancing, working at heights, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Job occasionally requires lifting more than 75 pounds.
