Position Overview:
Join our Engineering Test & Evaluation Division to manage and support groundbreaking engineering and applied research projects for commercial and government clients. You will work directly with senior engineers, program managers, and customer staff, driving VT-ARCs testbed efforts and efficiently managing day-to-day testbed operations. This position will require you to provide in-person lab support. This is an ideal role for someone aiming to grow into a wireless industry implementing novel solutions to promote wireless technologies and their implementation.

You thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy collaborating with engineers and researchers, and have a knack for organization and analysis. Your goal is to ensure customer program associated tasks and goals are successful.
Duties/Responsibilities:
* Maintain day-to-day operations of VT-ARCs wireless testbed including maintenance, software upgrades, physical connectivity, configuration, planning, and testing
* Execute wireless testing and document test results for 5G / Open RAN components including RU, DU, and CU
* Perform integration, functional, interoperability, and performance testing of Open RAN/5G systems
* Configure and manage IP networks including configuring, testing, and troubleshooting.
* Configure SDRs, software, and hardware associated with Open RAN and 5G testbed components
* Operate RF test equipment and measurement tools to capture test data
* Troubleshoot network configuration and integration issues
* Capture test results including key network metrics and perform detailed documentation of test activities
* Collaborate across engineering teams including internal team and external customers to accomplish program objectives
Required Education, Certification, Skills, Capabilities:
* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related engineering field and 3+ years of experience in wireless testing, integration, and test execution OR Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related engineering field and at least 1 year experience in wireless testing, integration, and test execution
* Well-versed and experienced in lab set-up, maintenance, operations, storage, and asset management
* Understanding of 5G, Open RAN, and LTE technologies, including gNodeB/eNodeB configuration and core network components
* Proficiency in configuration of routers and switches, routing protocols, IP addressing, network management, VPN
* Hands-on experience with open-sourced software and commercial off the shelf hardware such as NUCs, Servers, Switches, Routers
* Practical experience working with Wireless equipment tools such as frequency spectrum analyzer, signal generator, network analyzers, and network analytic tools such as Wireshark
* Ability to document test results and generate detailed test reports
* Ability to work independently based on senior technical staff guidance and within a team
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Visio)
* Be able to lift heavy equipment (up to 40 lbs.) if necessary
Preferred Skills/Experience
* Knowledge of modern cellular technologies and concepts, including Network Slicing, O-RAN, Network Function Virtualization, Software-Defined Networking technologies
* Demonstrated experience in wireless system design and standardization, with a focus on system-level end-to-end design, system architecture, and 5G core network and protocols preferably with a mobile network operator or equipment vendor
* Knowledge and hands-on experience working with SDRs such as USRP, and open-sourced software platforms such as srsRAN, OAI, Open5GS, Git, and Linux Ubuntu
* Knowledge of network security tools and its implementation on wireless networks
* Knowledge of cloud-native environments and containerization
* CISCO or equivalent certifications in networking
Primary Work Location:
* Work is to be performed in Arlington, VA with remote work flexibility under the Hybrid Work & Telecommuting Policy.

* Must be eligible to obtain & hold a Secret clearance
