Summary

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies are continuing to support new product launches and manufacturing capabilities. Doing so in a scalable and well planned manner is critical to our future, customers success, and in building products for the future of the automotive industry. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to work on our software integration and workflows team. Success in this role would mean scaling new technology and tools that enable Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies to integrate our software with OEMs in factory and service systems.

 

  • Drive end to end execution of vehicle software bring up; Leading architectural discussions, design reviews, coding, taking on integration, testing, and deployment within a continuous development cycle for software, and software tools.
  • Develop tools and standards to facilitate vehicle software integration with manufacturing and service systems.
  • Work with stakeholders in vehicle and factory software teams to arbitrate discussion, development, and system design.
  • Work with stakeholders across multiple brands to distill down feature requirements and drive development.
  • Define and drive the integration of new requirements for real time diagnostics and vehicle to off-board system communication.
  • Drive important metrics for customer, delivery, and manufacturing satisfaction.

 

  • Bachelor of Science/Engineering or masters with equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience working on complex, cross-functional, distributed software systems
  • Experience developing for embedded systems in C/C++/Rust/Golang/Python/Qt
  • Knowledge of electrical mechanical systems (PWM, HSD/LSD control, open/closed loop diagnostics)
  • Knowledge of software release and build processes. (Agile, git/svn, cmake, gcc)
  • Experience deploying embedded systems to target (Linux, yocto, buildroot, docker, bitbake)
  • Experience with networked embedded systems (CAN, Ethernet, LIN, DOIP, ISOTP)
  • Strong development and requirements skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high growth environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience Writing system requirements, working with feature owners.
  • Experience working on UI design (Qt, QML, React, HTML)
  • Experience working with service or manufacturing teams
  • Experience deploying software on a complex electromechanical products (Agricultural, Automotive, Aerospace, Defense, Manufacturing)
  • Experience with systems engineering and common systems analysis practices
  • Experience with data reporting tools (Hex, SQL, Databricks, Snowflake, R)
  • Experience with networking tools (Putty, Vector tools, SSH/SCP, Git, Wireshark)
  • Experience with messaging strategies (MQTT, NATS, HTTP, UDP/TCP, API design)
  • Experience with remotely connected systems
