About the Role As a Staff Program Manager for Generative AI (GenAI) Adoption at Uber, you will spearhead high-impact, org-wide initiatives focused on maximizing the value derived from GenAI tools like Gemini, Claude Enterprise, and ChatGPT. Based within the BizTech team, you will own and drive the strategy and execution for integrating these technologies across our global workforce. Your primary focus will be leading the program to drive end-user GenAI adoption, working closely with technical and business leaders to define goals, conceptualize solutions, align cross-functional teams, and ensure delivery with measurable outcomes. You will champion efficient execution, track progress against key metrics, proactively resolve blockers, manage risks, and communicate effectively with leadership and stakeholders. This role requires a blend of technical understanding, strategic thinking, and the ability to energize teams towards ambitious goals, ultimately proving the value of Uber's AI investments. \-\-\-\- What the Candidate Will Do ---- 1. Lead the global program to drive significant, measurable value from GenAI investments (Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) across Uber's entire workforce, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. 2. Define and manage the GenAI adoption roadmap, collaborating with engineering, product, and business teams to prioritize initiatives, define milestones, estimate efforts, and allocate resources effectively for complex, cross-functional projects. 3. Drive execution excellence, tracking progress rigorously, identifying and resolving dependencies or roadblocks, evaluating risks, and ensuring clear communication of status and outcomes to leadership. 4. Develop a strong understanding of GenAI capabilities and technical implementations at an architectural level to guide teams, propose alternatives, and ensure solutions are robust and scalable. 5. Partner with stakeholders across the organization to understand needs, manage expectations, and ensure GenAI initiatives align with user requirements and deliver tangible benefits. 6. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of GenAI adoption initiatives, using data to inform strategy and drive continuous improvement. 7. Facilitate strategic planning related to GenAI adoption, developing detailed program plans with clear objectives, resource needs, and measurable outcomes. 8. Champion best practices in program management and GenAI implementation, contributing to the continuous improvement of processes within the BizTech organization. \-\-\-\- Basic Qualifications ---- 1. Minimum 8 years of work experience. 2. Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. 3. Proven track record as a Program Manager, successfully delivering complex, cross-functional technical programs in SaaS and technology-driven environments, with strong technical acumen to understand architecture, mitigate implementation risks, and navigate challenges associated with AI and cloud-based solutions. 4. Direct, practical experience using and implementing client AI tools (Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude Enterprise, etc.), coupled with a strong passion for leveraging AI to drive business value. 5. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams across technical and non-technical audiences; highly analytical and solutions-oriented, leveraging data-driven insights to support objective decision-making and drive program success. 6. Metrics-driven approach with experience defining and tracking program success. 7. Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities effectively. 8. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. \-\-\-\- Preferred Qualifications ---- 1. Experience specifically managing AI or machine learning implementation programs. 2. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$185,000 per year - USD$205,500 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
