Tesla Energy is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer who is passionate about integration of hardware and mechanical design to drive the world's transition to a sustainable future. We emphasize collaboration in our work, and always encourage each other to have fun while we change the world together. * Lead mechanical integration and validation across multiple teams, including component level and full system validation * Drive the comprehensive mechanical test plan and decompose it to component testing, system level validation, and pilot runs * Key owner of the product hardware readiness checklist for start of production, OK-to-ship, and product launch * Lead DFMEA as part of the product design, integration, and test process * Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure functional, performance and safety requirements are successfully achieved * Support failure analysis to understand root cause and drive resolution for hardware failures originating in component and full system validation * Drive continuous improvement in design and performance by providing direct and accurate feedback to design owners * Hands-on with hardware bring up and prototyping * Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience * 5+ years of experience in hardware integration, enclosure design, busbar design, and battery design/testing * Strong understanding mechanical engineering fundamentals with some electrical engineering background * Understanding of hardware development process * Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills, able to identify and surface issues within complex hardware systems * Proficiency with hardware testing, lab tools, and equipment * Effective communicator and excellent attention to detail * Preferred: Previous work in the energy storage or electric vehicle charging industry * Preferred: Experience with batteries, power electronics, and/or renewable energy products * Preferred: Experience working on high voltage/high power systems
