Summary

We are seeking a Staff Network Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization's network infrastructure. Key responsibilities include defining network standards, configuring network devices, ensuring network security, and managing cloud connectivity. The role involves leading vendor selection, developing a network roadmap, and managing the network engineering budget. Strong technical skills in networking, security, and cloud connectivity are essential, along with experience in vendor management and budget oversight.

 

  • Define and implement network design standards, including routing, switching, load balancing, and network security.
  • Actively configure and troubleshoot network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers, to ensure network performance, security, and reliability.
  • Oversee network security, ensuring that security best practices are applied across all layers of the network infrastructure.
  • Implement and manage firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and network segmentation strategies to secure the network.
  • Design and implement proactive network monitoring strategies to ensure high network availability and performance.
  • Manage and optimize cloud connectivity solutions (e.g., AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute) and network interconnections between on-premise and cloud infrastructures.
  • Lead vendor selection, evaluation, and negotiation for network hardware and services, ensuring cost-effective and reliable solutions.
  • Manage relationships with key network vendors, including ISPs, hardware suppliers, and managed service providers.
  • Develop a strategic roadmap for network infrastructure that aligns with company objectives and anticipated business growth.
  • Manage the network engineering budget, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and efficient use of resources.

 

  • 10+ years of hands-on network engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong expertise in networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, etc.).
  • Proficient with networking hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, etc.) and software (e.g., SD-WAN, network monitoring tools).
  • Hands-on experience with network automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible, NetFlow, etc.).
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL, MPLS, etc.) and firewall configuration.
