In this role, you will: Be an integral part of the team to launch a series of disruptive products within competitive timeline Oversee the releases of bioinformatics tools to our costumers Own, devise, and maintain product bioinformatics pipelines and code bas Work closely with R&D scientists to convert prototype bioinformatics workflow into production grade pipelines Write internal and customer facing documentation to explain pipeline functions, pipeline execution, deployment, updates etc. Train field application scientist and engineers for customer training Assist customers with pipeline execution and deployment issues Work with external vendors and contractors to meet company’s and products’ bioinformatics needs Own, build and maintain in-house and cloud based infrastructure related to bioinformatics needs Be up to date with single cell, spatial bioinformatics packages and internalize as needed Analyze single cell data sets and assist lab scientists in data interpretation Wear multiple hats at any given time in our dynamic start-up Contribute to building the culture of a fast growing company You have: PhD degree Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Bioengineering/Biomedical Engineering/Biophysics with programming focus, Biophysics, Computer Science or software engineering with biological science focus At least 3 years of industry experience or academic bioinformatics core lab experience with building and deployment of NGS pipelines Ideally, witnessed a full product development cycle of a bioinformatics tool package in the industry setting, especially in the genomic tool provider space Desire to eventually advance to managing and strategizing bioinformatics products of the company Fluency in python and Linux environment Familiarity with bioinformatics workflow language such as Nextflow Familiarity with R, JSON, API, containerization Experience working with, and optimization of workflows on, AWS or other cloud and HPC environments, ideally cloud bioinformatics computing platform such as DNANexus Preferably, experience with analysis of RNA-seq and/or spatial genomics data Basic knowledge of various NGS library prep methods Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills. Desire to work in a fast-paced, agile environment Ability to acquire new skills and knowledge quickly, superb attention to detail, interest in scientific discovery, a great sense of humor and creativity The Base Salary Range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000.
