Summary

Our client, a prominent San Francisco venture capital firm, is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Staff Accountant for a temp-to-perm opportunity. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounts payable and general ledger accounting, along with a proactive approach to process improvement and collaboration across teams. This position provides a great opportunity for growth and expansion of responsibilities as experience and skills develop.


**Please note, this is an onsite, temp-to-perm role located in the Presidio, SF. Pay will be $86-90k annually, including an annual discretionary bonus.**


Key Responsibilities

  • Process and track purchase invoices, reconcile general ledger accounts, and create journal entries for daily transactions.
  • Reconcile 10+ bank accounts and perform monthly intercompany reconciliations across multiple entities.
  • Manage invoice processing via email and Monday.com, respond to vendor inquiries, and track invoice status for timely payments.
  • Monitor credit card activity for compliance and ensure timely recording and reconciliation.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end reporting by reviewing aggregated unposted entries and preparing reconciliations.
  • Assist in responding to internal inquiries and support the Senior Accountant with expanding responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in public and/or private accounting.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general ledger accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams); experience with Business Central is highly desired.
  • Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in purchase invoices and journal entries.
  • Analytical mindset with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to evolving business needs and leadership requests.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and improve processes (e.g., Business Central, Continia, Power BI).
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA is a plus.
