Dairy Lane Systems started in 1990 as a Surge milking equipment dealer. Since that time, we have expanded our scope to include automated milking robots, stabling, manure management, plumbing and ventilation services. Most recently, we acquired 2 milking equipment dealerships in Western Canada. In addition to the milking equipment sales, service and installation business, we are also involved in the design, build and operation of renewable energy biogas plants (DLS Biogas), the construction of agricultural structures (DLS Structures) and the manufacturing of dairy farm equipment (DLS Manufacturing).

Details About The Job

Location: Komoka, Ontario

The successful candidate will work with customers and the DLS team to service and install stabling components and equipment at various farms located primarily north of London

This is a full-time position Monday – Friday. We offer a total compensation package which includes competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, work wear, PPE and the opportunity for growth and advancement, come grow with us!

Job Duties

• Assemble, install, repair and maintain stabling equipment and systems in all types and sizes of barns as per instructions and specifications – could include tie stalls, free stalls, headlocks, gates and panels, posts, latches, water troughs, footbaths and our own inhouse designed specialty gates!
• Troubleshoot installation problems
• Weld stabling equipment, set posts and other related components
• Follow detailed diagrams/drawings of stabling map and install all components accordingly
• Co-operate with other construction contractors to ensure all aspects of the job are covered
• Operate forklift/telehandler and aerial lift equipment on occasion
• Maintain a professional and collaborative relationship and image with our customers
• Provide quality workmanship consistent with company and industry standards
• Follow Health and Safety requirements in all regards ensuring prevention of illness/injury
• Completion all required documentation in a timely manner
• Work indoors/outdoors in all weather conditions
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

• Good understanding of electronics, plumbing, pumps, hydraulics and augers
• Experience with basic tools and repair equipment
• Highly organized to plan your day and prioritize your workload meeting strict deadlines and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Ability to work independently or as part of team and take ownership of assigned work
• Strong communication skills to clearly communicate with customers regarding the work being done
• Ability to perform physical tasks that may require climbing, lifting, pushing, bending/stooping
• Mechanical aptitude/ability to troubleshoot equipment
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Maintenance welding experience
• Previous experience in construction/farm experience an asset
• Equipment installation an asset
• Service Technician experience and/or background in the dairy industry would be an asset
• Must be legally entitled to live and work in Canada
• Must maintain a valid G driver’s license with a clean abstract and have your own vehicle, we are not located on a public transportation route
