Primary Function
The Sr Vendor Risk Management Analyst will report directly to the Director Vendor Risk Management (VRM) and will be responsible for assisting in the execution of Newrez's Vendor Risk Management program. This includes document collection, review and dissemination of BC/DR plans, financial viability reviews, Information Security Assessments, and other relevant due diligence documentation, including but not limited to third-party Operational Control audits (SSAE 18 & SOC 1/2/3). The results of these reviews are formalized and shared with the appropriate Newrez lines of business, and if issues or deficiencies are identified. The Senior Analyst is responsible for assisting in remediation or providing recommendations making key decisions regarding the appropriate escalation action.
Sr Vendor Risk Management Analyst will also be a liaison between VRM and the functional leaders, including Compliance, Risk, Legal, IT, HR, Marketing, Finance, Originations and Servicing to foster cooperative working relationships and to assist these leaders in meeting their goals.
Principal Duties:
* Ensure strong oversight of vendor risks and provide insight on existing and potential risks.
* Ensure adherence to Government regulations, investor requirements and Newrez policies.
* Perform risk assessments for new and existing vendors through the collection and review of required due diligence documentation, coordinate review with Finance, BC/DR, and IT for additional review, if applicable, inclusive of onsite vendor reviews.
* Develop domain knowledge of Newrez's business to gain an understanding of short-term goals and long-term strategies for the organization.
* Collaborate with LOB managers and prospective vendors to fully understand products and/or services being provided; assess risk appropriately.
* Maintain broad influence through ongoing development of relationships across the organization; manage business relationships and cultivate an environment.
* Some travel required for onsite vendor reviews.
* Timely identify critical issues and work to resolution.
* Performs related duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's Degree or comparable experience in Economics or Finance highly preferred.
* 5+ years' experience in vendor auditing experience, preferably in the mortgage industry.
* 5+ years' experience in one or more of the following: Audit, Information Security, Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery, Mortgage Banking, Operational or Vendor Risk with an understanding of Vendor Risk Management.
* Certified Auditor designation is preferred.
* CRISC - Certified in Risk and Information Sec. Control Cert
* CIA - Certified Internal Auditor
* CISA - Certified Information Systems Auditor
* CFE Certified Fraud Examiner
* Experienced in the review of financial and operational AICPA audit reports including: SAS70, SSAE 18, and SOC reports.
* Thorough Understanding of the mortgage or financial industry's regulatory requirements for managing third party vendors (CFPB, FNMA, HUD, OCC, etc.).
* Proficiency in general computer use (MS Word, Excel, Visio and Outlook) and with enterprise contract management and/or administrative systems
* Strong project management skills with experience leading initiatives across a distributed organization structure.
* Advanced working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, DocuSign, Visio, Adobe PRO and contract management applications
* Role requires general understanding of systems and their application to advance the efficiency of operation.
