Job Overview

The Sr Vendor Performance Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day vendor relationship for a service provider across multiple business teams, including vendor performance, needs assessment, spend optimization, risk management, and alignment to department goals. A key portion of this role is to align performance and engagement of internal teams who are leveraging the vendor to ensure optimal delivery, address outsourced service needs, and forecast future needs. Works along leadership to oversee the lifecycle activities for existing contracts. Coordinates the negotiation and execution of contracts with the Legal department and leadership. Strong relationship management and the ability to influence internally and externally are key success factors in this role.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides day to day ownership of Master Service Contract (MSA) with outsourcing partners, has responsibility for oversight and partners in the negotiation with leadership and Legal on Scope of Work (SOW) for outsourcing, is responsible for ensuring outsourcing partners are in compliance with MSA, SOW, SOX, and all internal controls.
  • Develops, recommends, and/or implements strategic initiatives associated with improving practices; manages establishment and development of policies; establishes schedules, collaborates with inter- and intra-departmental stakeholders on content and processes to support overall company P&L and metrics.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors to align and manage expectations of service delivery / reliability.
  • Lead and serve as communications point and escalation path to resolve vendor delivery / reliability issues.
  • Manages Accountability and Performance Management:
  • Creation & calculation and ongoing review of scorecards, metrics and operational goals tracking performance of current outsourcing partners within Finance and future partners
  • Monitors progress and results; gives feedback effectively to vendor; has tough conversations, when appropriate.
  • Schedule and conduct vendor evaluations / business reviews for compliance, effectiveness and performance and identify areas of improvement for cross functional teams.
  • Provide escalations to vendors for all pervasive operational issues. Determine vendor key performance indicators and trends. Help determine ways to improve service reliability and reduce cost.
  • Partner with other groups on a matrix basis, particularly operational teams to deliver cost reduction, consistency on outsourcing reporting, and roadmap for future outsourcing opportunities.


Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree Business, Finance, Engineering (Required)
  • 7-10 years Telecommunications/Wireless Industry – experience in the areas of Engineering, Finance or Carrier Management desired or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required)
  • Management, team lead, or other equivalent leadership experience. (Required)

Overland Park, KS Compensation Range: $87,800 - $118,800

Frisco, TX Compensation Range $93,200 - $126,100

Base Pay Range: $80,600 - $145,500

Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
