TSMC Design Technology Canada Inc. is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Technical Manager, Memory Test and Built-In Self-Test (BIST) Design to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of extensive experience in memory testing and self-testing, with a proven track record in memory test algorithms, defect modeling, and advanced design-for-test methodologies. This role requires a deep understanding of memory circuit design, ASIC design, and chip design, as well as hands-on expertise in EDA tools for memory Built-In Self-Test (BIST) and custom BIST design. The candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our memory technologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and deliver cutting-edge solutions.

Responsibilities
- Memory Testing & Self-Testing:
- Design, develop, and execute advanced memory test algorithms and self-test methodologies.
- Lead the development and optimization of memory test flows to ensure high yield and reliability.
- Defect and Fault Modeling:
- Conduct extensive memory defect and fault modeling to identify and address potential failure mechanisms.
- Implement robust fault detection and diagnosis strategies to enhance memory performance and quality.
- Design for Test (DFT):
- Develop and implement memory-specific DFT solutions to ensure manufacturability and testability.
- Collaborate with design teams to embed testability features into memory circuits.
- EDA & BIST Design:
- Utilize EDA tools for memory BIST (Built-In Self-Test) to support customer test memory IP in their design.
- Work with EDA MBIST providers to ensure TSMC requirements support
- Develop silicon proven custom BIST solution for emerging memories
- Innovate and optimize memory BIST architectures for high efficiency and low overhead.
- Memory Circuit Design:
- Provide technical leadership in the design for test and verification of memory circuits.
- Work closely with circuit design teams to ensure seamless integration of test methodologies.
- 3D/2.5D DFT and 3D memory test and repair
- Experience with 3D/2.5D DFT and test standards
- Knowledge of 3D memory integration methodology and testing approaches
- ASIC and Chip Design:
- Contribute to the design and development of ASICs and SoCs, with a focus on memory subsystems.
- Manage chip-level integration and validation of memory-related functions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with product, process, and reliability engineering teams to ensure end-to-end memory quality.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Minimum Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of extensive experience in memory test and memory self-test development.
- Proven track record in memory test algorithms and design for test (DFT).
- Significant experience in memory defect and fault modeling, as well as failure analysis.
- Deep understanding of memory circuit design principles and methodologies.
- Expertise in EDA tools for memory BIST and custom BIST design.
- Strong knowledge of ASIC design, chip design, and integration.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in emerging memory technologies such as SRAM, DRAM, RRAM, or MRAM.
- Familiarity with advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes and technologies.
- Experience in project and team management is a plus.
