Procom is seeking a Technical Architect for a 12-month contract engagement with a Government of Canada client. We are looking for a seasoned professional with strong expertise in application and software architecture design, assessment, and testing services in both Linux and Windows-based environments.
Responsibilities:
Develop Service Delivery Strategy for managing and delivering IT services across the client proprietary software application portfolio, including:
Provide a clear and comprehensive vision statement.
Define the scope of work and portfolio characterization:
Assess each application's mandate, requirements, user community, and technical architecture adequacy.
Analyze and recommend the use of Open-Source Software where applicable.
Identify policy-driven and technical solution requirements.
Evaluate alternative technology solutions compatible with the client’s high-security and technical environment.
Develop system data maps, define data standards, and specify interface requirements for integration with external systems.
Identify requirements for solutions capable of functioning within strict bandwidth constraints, especially for remote and mobile users.
Compare client proprietary software processes against industry IT service delivery trends.
Review and analyze current processes for:
Impact of technology changes.
Implementation of change management initiatives.
Continuous improvement based on service availability data.
Conduct Stakeholder Analysis:
Recommend strategies for enhancing and maintaining stakeholder engagement and coordination.
Cyber Security Vision:
Develop a high-level cybersecurity strategy for the client proprietary software portfolio, based on future technology and operational requirements and ongoing alignment with allied and partner cybersecurity efforts.
DevSecOps Expertise:
Provide leadership, training, and hands-on expertise for the adoption of DevSecOps practices using tools like GitLab and Azure DevOps.
Foster collaboration between development, security, and operations teams.
Automation and Efficiency:
Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve the management and operation of the client proprietary software team.
Analytics and KPIs:
Recommend and integrate third-party reporting and analytics tools to enable capture and tracking of key portfolio performance metrics (KPIs).
Lifecycle and Support Planning:
Develop and maintain in-service support and lifecycle support plans for applications and systems.
Management Briefings:
Prepare, update, and present technical briefings and reports for senior management. Requirements:
Security Clearance: Must possess a valid Secret security clearance.
Technical Architect Experience:
Minimum 3 years within the last 5 years as an IM/IT Technical Architect, responsible for developing:
Technology architectures
Roadmaps
Risk assessments
Frameworks
Sustainability studies
Technology adoption strategies
DevSecOps Experience:
Minimum 3 years within the last 5 years working with DevSecOps tools and methodologies (e.g., GitLab, Azure DevOps).
Must have post-secondary education from a recognized institution.
