Primary Purpose:
Focus as design engineer on projects to include renovations, new multi-story buildings, parking garages, healthcare, higher education, and municipal projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural)
- Professional Engineering License (IL SE preferred)
- Expert experience in their field
- Possess 8+ years of experience
Skills / Qualities:
- Experience with cast-in-place and precast concrete, steel framing, wood, and masonry structures with varying foundation types
- Strong experience working in Revit and structural design software (RAM preferred)
- Ability to put together a high-quality set of construction documents
- Experience editing project specifications
- Proactive and assertive in problem solving
- Experience managing parallel assignments
- Good written, oral communications, staff management and client relationship skills
- Concern for the exact correctness of work
- Strong work ethic and a drive to exceed client expectations
- Experience in healthcare related projects a plus
Responsibilities:
- Design new construction and renovation projects from concept to construction
- Support project managers as part of the design process
- Direct junior engineers working on an assigned project
- Attend client meetings and design review meetings
- On-site construction administration and site inspection visits to assess the quality of construction
- Detailed engineering work is a major focus
- Plan, focus, and complete the tasks on hand
- Position will be very task oriented, requiring individual to be conservative, careful and cautious with work
- Coordination within a multi-disciplinary project team
