Sr. Software Engineer (Linux/802.11ah):
Rigado is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Software Engineer with a deep understanding of Linux networking and 802.11ah (HaLow) to join our innovative engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing/supporting 802.11ah features of Cascade 5000 IoT Access Point. This includes ensuring kernel drivers and userspace applications function correctly, working with Canonical to ensure HaLow devices operate smoothly in Ubuntu Core, troubleshooting customer issues, and enabling advanced network configurations through our Edge Direct cloud management platform.
You will join the Edge Direct team to help build out our cloud management platform. You’ll work directly with the VP of Software Engineering and the VP of Product to design and execute on the Edge Direct roadmap. Our distributed team spans the U.S. and Europe, with optional offices in Salem, OR, and Portland, OR. We prefer 4 hours of overlap with the Pacific time zone.
You should have:
- Experience with headless embedded systems
- A deep understanding of Linux networking - (TCP/IP, Bridging, Routing)
- Experience with embedded Linux kernel development (drivers, modules, device trees)
- Experience with expansion card devices (M.2 and/or Mini-PCIe)
- Experience with various hardware interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, PCIe, etc.) and their integration with Linux.
- Experience with or willingness to learn Golang
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience at a startup
- Experience with Ubuntu Core
- Experience with cloud native tech like Kubernetes
- Experience monitoring networking of Linux devices
- Experience with wireless networking (Cellular, WiFi)
- Experience with low power wireless protocols like Bluetooth
Education and Experience Requirements:
B.S. Degree, preferably in a technical field, plus 7+ years of on the job experience. OR, 10+ years working in tech, with experience in a similar role.
