We have rapidly grown to over $1 billion in annual revenue and we're just getting started! Job Summary Our NetSuite platform sits at the heart of sales, accounting, billing, fulfillment, and beyond. You will help with an ongoing reinvention, so engineers across Zoro can contribute safely and quickly. As nearly every function of the business at Zoro flows through our NetSuite platform, we are a team that is driven by the needs of our stakeholders, trying to make everyone's jobs easier. A successful candidate will be someone who can thrive in an environment of ambiguity, with a drive to identify and improve inefficient systems and processes. * Design & ship modern TypeScript modules, services, and tooling for NetSuite SDF (Software Development Framework) that can perform at scale * Own our SDF TypeScript build + CI pipeline and champion best practices for testing, observability, and security (PCI/SOX) * Partner with product, design, and 20+ engineering squads, as well as business stakeholders in Fulfilment, Finance, and Customer Service to turn business goals into resilient systems and automations * Mentor & coach engineers of varied backgrounds, foster psychological safety, and model healthy code-review culture and engineering excellence * Continuously improve how we work: propose experiments, retire tech debt, and celebrate small wins along the way Duties and Responsibilities * Deliver code with quality and attention to detail (bug-free, unit tested, easy to understand, and easily maintainable) * Lead continuous improvements to NetSuite platform, with an emphasis on robust peer review and elevated code quality standards * Contribute to solution design, technical direction, and NetSuite platform architecture * Foster team cohesion, inclusion, and set an example for other engineers * Mentor junior software engineers in all aspects of their engineering skill-sets * Interact closely with other development teams to ensure that NetSuite customizations are well thought-out and align with higher-level technical goals * Lead efforts to ensure that best practices around monitoring and observability are followed in any NetSuite customizations * Effectively execute in a PCI and SOX compliant environment Minimum Qualifications * 5+ years of experience building extensible and maintainable applications. * Familiarity with JavaScript (ES6) and TypeScript * Working knowledge of at least one backend language such as Python, Java, PHP, etc. * Experience with DevOps tools and processes such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, AWS/GCP * Considerable experience with source code version control (Git, SVC) * Strong testing experience and commitment to quality * Exceptional at digging through logs and piecing together data from different apps to quickly spot what's broken and get things running again Preferred Qualifications * Experience collaborating with non-technical stakeholders * Experience designing, building, and maintaining internal- or external-facing developer tools, platforms, or frameworks that are consumed by other engineers * Experience with JS testing frameworks, tools and methodologies such as Jest and Cypress Total Rewards Zoro's total compensation plan includes our Zoro Incentive Plan (ZIP) that is designed to foster and reward our team members for strong performance.
