This role sits in the Tech Ops, Quality, and Systems Engineering organization within Technology & Digital for Disney Experiences. The Sr Software Development in Test (SDET) Engineer will report to the Global Quality Engineering Manager.
What You'll Do:
- Design, implement, and maintain a repeatable self-service test automation framework through code, closely integrated with the deployment pipeline (build, release, and deployment)
- Recommend testing automation strategies and delivery processes, and provide our customers with the necessary testing tools to implement them
- Provide status reports as needed
- Continually improve the quality hooks into the delivery process through automation as our collaborators innovate with new technology
- Standardize procedures for repeatability, discoverability, and faster inception of a given project
- Build the foundation of delivery technology on easy-to-use and easy-to-discover self-service principles that we expose to the wider internal community of artists, testers, producers, and engineers
- Shapes the strategic framework for the quality assurance engineering aspects of the DevOps tool suite for ongoing software deployment, maintenance, and development efforts
- Sets the strategic direction for various elements of the overall strategy and supports quality assurance through automation for the delivery pipeline
- Be willing and able to provide manual test execution when needs require
- You will be expected to stay up to date with new technologies
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on automated software test development experience, including both functional and non-functional test development
- Comfortable working in an agile environment
- Comfortable adapting to custom automation frameworks
- Passion for DevOps including, but not limited to, test automation and system automation
- Interest in immersive media such as virtual, augmented, or mixed reality
- Experience using a continuous integration system
- Proficient in programming languages such as Java, NodeJS, and AngularJS, and a desire to develop further technical skills.
- 5+ years of experience working with UI, Mobile UI or API test automation tools such as Selenium, Appium and Jasmine, and tools like Jenkins or Harness
- Ability to work independently and deliver on agreed upon timelines.
- Passion for quality with a “no line of code written without testing” mindset.
- Strong time management skills with a history of meeting commitments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of test technology trends and Web/Mobile debugging tools (i.e. Charles Proxy, Postman)
- Working knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure or other cloud services providers in support of CI/CD solutions
- Knowledge of test technology trends and Web/Mobile frameworks/tools (Flutter, NoSQL, cloud, etc.)
- Experience working with cloud services Selenium grids and cloud services device farms (SauceLabs, BrowserStack, LambdaTest, etc.)
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or related equivalent experience.
Preferred Education:
- Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related equivalent experience.

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA/Anaheim, CA is $138,900 - $186,200 per year and in Seattle, WA is $145,400 - $195,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
