About the Role:

Taoshi is seeking a full-time, remote Rust Developer to join our team. As a Rust Developer, you will design, implement, and test secure and efficient next-generation smart contracts for financial applications across multiple blockchain platforms. This is a high-impact role for an experienced engineer with a passion for decentralized finance (DeFi). You’ll tackle challenging problems, drive innovative solutions, and help shape the future of DeFi.

All team members work remotely. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $160,000 - $200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.

Key Responsibilities

Smart Contract Design & Implementation

• Design and Implement Smart Contracts: Leverage Rust to create secure and efficient smart contracts, primarily targeting Solana, Arbitrum, and Ethereum.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to define project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Deployment and Maintenance: Deploy and maintain smart contracts on various blockchain networks, ensuring smooth operation and minimal downtime.
• Research & Innovation: Stay at the forefront of industry developments by evaluating new blockchain technologies, tools, and best practices to continually enhance our smart contract ecosystem.

Technical Development & Quality Assurance

• Testing & Validation: Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure the reliability and security of smart contracts.
• Code Reviews & Knowledge Sharing: Conduct thorough code reviews to uphold code quality standards and mentor team members on best practices.
• Security Vigilance: Proactively identify and address potential security vulnerabilities to safeguard smart contracts against emerging threats.
• Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous refinement of development processes, tooling, and best practices for increased efficiency and maintainability.
• Troubleshooting & Debugging: Investigate and resolve issues related to smart contract functionality, ensuring minimal disruption to end-users.

Required Qualifications

Education & Technical Foundation

• Minimum 3+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years focused on Rust (or equivalent demonstrable Rust expertise).
• Proven track record of developing and deploying production-ready smart contracts, preferably in financial applications (please provide examples of past projects and contributions).
• Deep understanding of blockchain technology, especially within Solana, Arbitrum, and Ethereum ecosystems.
• Experience with smart contract development tools and frameworks (e.g., Anchor, Hardhat, Foundry).
• Solid understanding of cryptography and security best practices for smart contract development.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong proficiency in the Rust programming language and familiarity with testing and debugging smart contracts.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities, capable of working effectively in both independent and team settings.
• Proactive approach to learning and adopting new technologies and best practices.

Recommended Qualifications

• Experience or strong interest in decentralized finance (DeFi) and financial applications.
