Background Information: Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), provider of cutting-edge cloud-based integration, automated testing and data analysis for complex, mission-critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DOD), is seeking a Sr. Radar Systems Engineer to be based out of Mount Laurel, NJ. Leveraging advanced software automation, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), and AI-driven capabilities, IDT accelerates capability development, enhances operational readiness, and reduces lifecycle costs for the Department of Defense. Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated Sr. Radar Systems Engineer with a Subject Matter Expertise in Aegis Combat System radar components, specifically SPY-1D/D(V) or equivalent. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Radar Control Computer (RCC) and Radar Signal Processor (SigPro), including diagnostics, software - hardware interaction and performance tuning for Aegis Baseline 7/9. The candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of real-time radar system operation, waveform generation, and digital signal processing techniques. This position involves working closely with IWS Navy stakeholders, advisors, and national laboratories for the implementation of new capabilities. All applicants must currently possess an active U.S. Security Clearance. Responsibilities Include: * Develop, integrate and test new capabilities into the existing Aegis Baseline system to support a future demonstration * Analyze data to uncover trends, insights, and recommendations for performance assessment * Support testing and live firings Minimum Required Qualifications: * 10+ years of experience with Aegis Combat System radar components * Experience with track initiation, beamforming, calibration and signal integrity with naval radar systems * Ability to analyze waveform quality, radar signal paths and clutter environments for system validation * Deep understanding of Aegis Weapon System integration and associated fire control components Required Skills * Experience with Aegis Virtual Twin (AVT) environments or Tactical Cloud Reference Implementations (TCIR) * Knowledge of Electronic Warfare (EW) or sensor fusion concepts as applied to radar * Familiarity with Surface Combat System Training (SCST) * Proven track record of supporting R&D related to weapons or intercept systems * Familiarity with threat analysis, defense intercept technology and layered missile defense systems * Presenting design details and recommendations to US leadership through White Papers, peer reviews and presentations * Excellent technical and communication skills and being secure working in a team environment * Experience developing technical proposals and defining key development tasks and deliverables * Familiarity with software tools such as LabView, MATLAB, strong grasp of C/C++, Ada coding, and VME architecture. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights. * Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations. * High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in documentation and analysis. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities. Preferred Skills: * Hands-On experience working with Aegis Combat System radar components, specifically SPY-1D(D(V) is desired * Demonstrated subject matter expertise in Aegis Baseline 7/9 * Familiarity with the Common Source library (CSL) and software development life cycles (SDLC) for system implementation. * Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools is a plus Pay Range: $164,000 - $273,000 or $198,000 - $328,000 * Pursuant to New Jersey Senate Bill 2310, IDT is required to disclose the "pay scale" or "pay range" associated with a job posting. Notably, however, this amount may not be reflective of actual compensation that may be earned as pay is dependent on a candidate's experience, skills, and education.
