Senior Manager, Quality Assurance
We are seeking a Senior Manager of Quality Assurance to drive world-class quality processes across the full product lifecycle—from initial concept to end-of-life. The successful candidate will bring deep experience in sheet metal systems and electronics/PCBA manufacturing and play a critical leadership role in improving our quality systems and achieving ISO certification. Key Responsibilities of Sr. Quality Assurance Manager
Manufacturing Quality Assurance
- Verify accurate specification, inspection, and compliance of components and finished goods.
- Ensure manufacturing processes are robust, analyzed, validated, and aligned with quality expectations.
Supplier Quality Management
- Evaluate suppliers and subcontractors to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
- Lead supplier audits and develop supplier quality metrics.
Quality & Process Planning
- Collaborate with the Plant Manager to develop and maintain Process Flows, Control Plans, MSAs, and Quality Plans.
Inspection & Testing
- Establish comprehensive inspection and testing protocols, including sampling plans, to ensure conformance to product specs.
Technical Leadership
- Lead PFMEA efforts with suppliers and support process validation activities.
- Provide guidance on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and reliability enhancements.
Supplier Change Control
- Manage and document supplier change requests and ensure proper review and approval.
Root Cause Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Drive structured problem-solving for quality issues, using methodologies such as 5 Whys and Fishbone.
- Lead implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Support failure analysis and coordinate resolutions with internal teams and suppliers.
Product Reliability & Metrics
- Monitor and improve product MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures).
- Track and report on quality performance metrics, driving initiatives for continuous improvement.
Design & New Product Introduction (NPI) Support
- Partner with mechanical design teams to ensure seamless NPI and vendor readiness.
- Oversee First Article Inspection (FAI) and First-Off Tool (FOT) approvals.
ISO Certification & Compliance
- Lead ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 internal audits and maintain compliance.
- Identify and implement process improvements aligned with ISO standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
- 7+ years as a Quality Manager with experience implementing and managing quality systems.
- 10+ years in QA/QE roles within manufacturing, with strong expertise in assembly operations.
- Experience with electromechanical and electronics assembly; sheet metal system background is essential.
- Strong grasp of FMEA, SPC, DOE, GR&R, and other quality engineering methodologies.
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 standards.
- Experience in transitioning designs to manufacturing environments.
- Proficient in quality analysis tools (e.g., Minitab), documentation systems, and CAD/drawing interpretation.
- Strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and supplier management skills.
- Willing to travel 15–30%, both domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Tier 1/Tier 2 EMS or contract manufacturers.
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
