Job Title: Sr. Python Architect

Location: Remote

Contract: W2

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a Sr. Python Architect with strong data engineering capabilities and hands-on experience building microservices. Ideal candidates will have deep knowledge of SQL (outside of ORM tools), be comfortable with asynchronous programming, and have worked with modern Python frameworks like FastAPI, Django, or Flask. A background in database architecture (former DBA) is highly desirable.

Key Requirements:

• Strong Python development background
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI, Django, and/or Flask (microservices development)
• Experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) – highly preferred
• Mid-level SQL expertise, including writing complex queries outside of ORM tools
• Knowledge of data modeling and design
• Familiarity with semantic versioning
• Experience with asynchronous operations (e.g., using async/await, asyncio)
• Hands-on with ARQ and Redis
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices
• Background in data engineering or as a former DBA is a big plus

Nice to Have:

• Cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git)
• Exposure to containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
