Duties:
The Scheduler / Senior Scheduler will monitor and document operations and life extension project progress, identify, track and assist in resolution of schedule and resource issues/conflicts. Is responsible for supporting Project Managers in project scoping, planning, and scheduling; change control; problem identification and resolution support. They will monitor, review and report to the Project Manager, the schedule status of the project. Scheduler will create Cost and Resource Loaded scheduling, gather data, validate, and incorporate it into the project schedule and cost processor (as needed), analyze schedule impacts and recommend corrective action to be taken in order to mitigate/avoid cost and schedule overruns.
Support daily, weekly and monthly schedule reporting requirements.
Prepares and keeps current project schedules as well as sub project schedules for monitoring and tracking requirements. Provides information as needed on the content, modification, or presentation of the project schedule.
Identifies and records the impact of work performed and not performed as scheduled. Evaluate actual progress and provide regular schedule updates.
Interfaces with Site Operations, Project Management, and Subcontractors to discuss impact of work and resolution of problems.
Assist in managing project schedule baseline and change control.
Assist in preparing various schedule views for management showing variance to baseline, variance from last forecast, remaining float, critical path supported by analysis.
Contributes to the development of proposal schedules for Estimating.
Prepares and issues detailed monthly schedule analyses.
Incorporates resource and/or cost loading data into schedules as required.
Determines schedule dates for work activities within a discipline area or specialty.
Determines intermediate milestones to support project contractual milestones or schedule.
Confirms work sequence and activity durations per project's execution plan.
Determines interdisciplinary constraints or interfaces that define activity sequences.
Assists in the development of the required job hour expenditure for a specific discipline or specialty. Assists in determining leveling decisions.
Provides schedule knowledge on a continuous basis to assist in discipline planning and interfacing with others.
Job-Related Qualifications Required:
Requirements:
Knowledge and experience supporting DOE programs.
Sound knowledge of schedule systems, principles and practices required.
Working knowledge of computer scheduling programs (i.e. Primavera P6) is required.
Must be able to build and maintain accurate and up-to-date schedules working with multiple calendars.
Experience managing multiple projects and pulling together multiple schedules into a master schedule and/or interfacing with other teams managing different schedules.
Efficiently and effectively handle multiple and shifting priorities while meeting deadlines.
Consistently demonstrates a high attention to detail.
Must have the ability to work collaboratively with all team members and stakeholders, and the ability to work independently and take direction from supervisor.
Excellent written and oral skills are required, and experience in working in a fast-paced analytical environment is preferred.
Experience with delay claims, time extension requests, and subcontractor productivity/limitations is preferred.
Grade 26:
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, project management, construction management, engineering or other related discipline plus 10+ years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and directly relevant work experience. Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) desired.
Level Specific Responsibilities:
Under management direction, applies advanced Project Controls principles, theories and concepts in assignments and related work.
Responsible for the overall implementation and direction of the estimating, cost engineering, and the planning and scheduling functions to provide services, procedures, and methods for the timely and accurate response to client, project management, departmental, and company requirements.
On small or multiple projects, the individual may act independently or may direct, as controls team leader, a staff of other project controls individuals. On large projects the individual, as controls team leader, may direct a staff of other project control individuals. On very large projects the individual may report to a controls team leader and may direct a portion of the staff on the project.
Applies advanced Project Controls principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to development of new principles and concepts.
Grade 27:
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, project management, construction management, engineering or other related discipline plus 12+ years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and directly relevant work experience. Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) desired.
Level Specific Responsibilities:
Working independently, has basic responsibility for providing administrative and/or technical direction of Project Controls activities.
Responsible for defining, developing, acquiring, training, implementing, integrating, maintaining, and auditing the methods, techniques, standards, guidelines, procedures, and tools to support the desired level of information and reporting for project control and management visibility as needed on projects, from proposal through execution and completion.
Depending on the size of the project, the individual will act independently, or will direct, as an area controls team leader, a portion of the controls staff, or as controls team leader, a staff of other project controls individuals, in the performance of functional activities to support and maintain project information requirements for the purpose of control and management visibility. Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness. Applies and/or develops highly advanced principles, theories, and concepts. Viewed as expert within field.
