Who We Are Looking For:
Our preferred candidate will have prior experience in the AEC industry, and an interest in working in a dynamic global design environment with a diverse range of public assembly building types, including sports venues, convention centers, and transportation facilities. The scope of work consists of full-time construction administration services for the full-time equivalent start date through March 2027, with relocation opportunity to one of our American Region Offices.
What Your Day Could Consist Of:
- Review and examine construction work for compliance with contract documents, monitors job progress, observes testing of materials and systems, and reports on these conditions to the Project Manager and Senior Project Architect.
- Provides weekly field reports.
- Maintain, at the site, a copy of the project schedule with notations, highlighting, etc. that show work to date and any changes made in the CPM schedule and makes recommendations to the Project Manager as appropriate concerning the contractor's conformance to the schedule and/or recovery plans.
- Notify the Project Manager and Senior Project Architect if work begins before required shop drawings, product submittals, or samples have been approved by the A/E. Receives and logs samples required to be furnished at the site; notifies the Project Manager when they are ready for A/E examination; records the A/E's approval or other action; and maintains custody of approved samples throughout the project for turnover to Project Manager at project completion
- Maintain a collaborative professional working relationship with the Project Leadership Team (Project Designer, Project Manager, and Principal in Charge).
- Act as an intermediary between the client, the contractor and the architectural team; providing information to the Populous project team. Information will facilitate response to site concerns, and review site conditions as needed to answer RFIs and Submittals.
- Foster ongoing communication through team meetings, minutes, and updating memos to the project team, including consultants.
- Ensure project documentation complies with Populous policy standards.
- Coordinate team efforts to complete projects promptly and successfully while adhering to schedules and budgets.
- Consistently reviews work and communicate needs and concerns to project staff.
- Accurately monitors and verifies contractor time and material charges when appropriate.
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as required.
Requirements For Success:
- Strong relationship-building and problem-solving skills.

- Expertise in guiding design, construction methodology, material applications, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of construction materials and methods.
- Experience with safety regulations and procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of project work plans, schedules, staffing, and budget management.
- Advanced understanding of sustainability practices, integrated design, and LEED guidelines.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the codes and standards referenced in the contract documents which stipulate the requirements for installation and workmanship on the trades involved in the work (e.g., ACI, SMACNA, NFPA, NEC, ICC, ASHRAE, etc.)
- Knowledge of construction inspection procedures.
- Computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products, CADD, Revit.
- Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Highly self-motivated and proactive personality.
Essential Qualifications:
- Professional Degree in Architecture (B. Arch or M. Arch) from an accredited program.
- 15+ years of professional architectural experience.
- Registered Architect with a current license.
- NCARB registration preferred.
- LEED is not required, but a plus.
Additional details:
- Travel will be required.
- Overtime may be necessary.
Compensation:
- The projected salary range for this opportunity is $95,112 - $118,890 annually, and may be more or less depending on skills, experience and education.
