Job Description

The Sr. Network Systems Administrator performs a wide‐range of network‐related duties, including the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex on premise and cloud environments. This role is responsible for hybrid infrastructure design, disaster recovery planning, capacity planning, network security, server and network configuration, network administration and monitoring, thorough troubleshooting and maintenance. In addition, this role works closely with all levels of HIT Management, MedPOINT managers & supervisors, and IT Help Desk teammates.

Duties and Responsibilities

Works closely with the Senior Supervisor, IT Infrastructure and Operations and VP of HIT to assist with the implementation design, configuration, and deployment of the Office 365 environment across the organization

Develops and assists in writing Standard Operating Procedures for managing and maintaining VMWare environment, Office 365 environment, and Azure / Amazon cloud environment.

Performs the more complex network and server administration functions, including configuring, installing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and operating systems for both physical and virtual.

Installs, customizes, configures, troubleshoots, tests and optimizes moderate to complex network software and physical infrastructure designs.

Designs and implements network security solutions, including elements such as end user roles and groups, trust relationships, access rights, and directories.

Analyzes network resource utilization and implements solutions to correct problems to ensure all network applications are accessible and functioning properly.

Identifies and recommends appropriate changes to network infrastructure to improve performance, reliability and availability.

Plans and installs hardware upgrades for network servers and associated telecommunication devices.

Identifies and resolves complex network problems; uses network management tools.

Ensures network security according to policies and procedures; creates and maintains data security processes.

Conducts analysis as needed in support of proposed changes to our hybrid on premise/cloud infrastructure.

Researches and evaluates network, server hardware, software, and cloud environment options and upgrades including updates, patches, and service packs.

Minimum Job Requirements

Additional responsibilities as required by management.

BS degree in engineering/computer science or r a closely related field and three (3) years of recent full‐time experience in a centralized Information Technology organization* within the last five years in infrastructure design, configuration, and administration.

VMware Certified Professional or equivalent experience.

Experience In Administration And Configuration Of Office 365 Required.

Understanding of Healthcare IT, HITRUST, and HIPAA

Understanding of disaster recovery principals and implementation tools, technologies and methods.

Skill and Abilities

Excellent problem‐solving and multitasking skills with ability to manage changing priorities.

May be required to manage multiple priorities and projects with tight deadlines simultaneously.

Ability to work independently with little supervision as well as contributing positively to team projects

Effectively communicate technical information to non‐technical audiences.

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including Project Management – a must.
