Job Title: Sr NOC Engineer

Location: Salt Lake Metro- Hybrid- 2 days/Week

Job-Type: Direct Hire

Compensation: 110,000-140,000- DOE

Gravity IT is seeking Sr NOC Engineer who holds customer first mentality and breadth of knowledge in routing, switching, and Wi-Fi. There is tremendous opportunity for someone with the right skill set and business acumen to excel within our organization.


Requirements:

  • Execute moves, adds, changes, and troubleshoot Cisco switching topologies with Vlans, Trunks, EtherChannels, Spanning Tree, vPCs, etc.
  • Execute moves, adds, changes, and troubleshoot firewall and VPN topologies (primarily Cisco ASA and Palo Alto platforms).
  • Execute moves, adds, changes, and troubleshoot load balancers (primarily F5 platform)
  • Execute moves, adds, changes, and troubleshoot WiFi technologies (primarily Cisco and Aruba platforms)
  • Execute moves adds, changes, and troubleshoot MPLS, BGP, EIGRP, VRFs routing technologies and protocols (primarily Cisco routing platforms)
  • Remotely Diagnose problems and solve issues, often under time constraints
  • Support, maintain and upgrade network hardware and software infrastructure according to best practices
  • Provide network documentation
  • Monitor network usage, anticipate problems and suggest solutions;
  • Manage incidents and tasks in ticketing system;
  • Work closely with colleagues to meet team goals and improve processes and practices.
  • Remain current on emerging technologies via professional groups, trade magazines, internal and external training, independent research and study, and other avenues available.
  • Perform other tasks as requested

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in a technical field (Not required but preferred) or a relevant combination of education and experience
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (required)
  • 3+ years of expertise in implementing, managing, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including: firewalls, routers, switches, wireless controllers, and monitoring applications
  • Intermediate to expert understanding of several different platforms of firewall configuration and maintenance
  • Intermediate to expert with configuration, installation, troubleshooting, and supporting Networking equipment and wireless (WiFi) equipment
  • Comfortable documenting and explaining network topologies
  • Understand and diagram existing networks
  • Diagram and explain technical solutions to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Intermediate to expert with 802.1q VLANs and working within industry best practices
  • Experience maintaining an enterprise level infrastructure, including fiber optic and wireless technologies
  • Knowledgeable in application transport and network infrastructure protocols (SSL/TLS, DNS, DHCP, WINS, NTP, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, CIFS, LDAP, and Microsoft AD), and possess an understanding of how to support these applications / protocols when accessed through VPN, load balancers and firewall appliances.
