This role is responsible for leading the development, optimization, and governance of pricing strategies that drive sales, profitability, and customer value. It involves close collaboration with merchandising and category teams to model pricing scenarios, leverage competitive insights, and measure performance through robust analytics. The Senior Pricing Manager uses a blend of data analysis and strategic thinking to influence stakeholders, enhance market positioning, and implement scalable, insight-driven pricing solutions.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Develop new and improve on existing pricing strategies, working collaboratively across the merchandising team in an effort to align on priorities and achieve business goals
Model and analyze price optimization scenarios in the pricing tool to maximize sales and profitability. Influence category partners to adopt the price optimization tool.
Provide objective analysis on the impact of pricing decisions and collaborate across functions to design and develop pricing metrics to measure performance
Utilize quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze and monitor market, price positioning and provide analytical insights to drive business value and to deliver best in class understanding of customer experience of price.
Responsible for the maintenance and governance of the pricing strategy, configurations and rules in the pricing tool.
Influence senior leadership using robust data analytics to drive strategic initiatives. Document and align on scope, develop framework, methodology, and implementation strategy, and guide change management as needed
Build logic in the web scrape price collection process and analyze competitive retail prices to deliver insights and actionable recommendations.
Continuously analyze market trends, competitive pricing strategies and internal pricing performance to refine and optimize pricing approaches.
Experience, Education, Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field
5+ years of experience in pricing, category management, or retail analytics.
Proven track record in developing and executing pricing strategies in a retail environment.
Experience with pricing tools, data analytics, and business intelligence software.
Deep understanding of retail pricing methodologies, elasticity, and competitive positioning.
Proficiency in data analysis, forecasting, and pricing optimization models.
Familiarity with regulatory compliance and legal considerations in pricing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and business intelligence tools.
Detail-oriented with strong project management skills.
Strong ability to influence and drive strategic decisions.
