About the role The Sr. Manager, Operations role is highly visible and hybrid in nature as it calls for interactions with a number of teams under the Operations umbrella including but not limited to internal & client-facing operations, and working with cross-functional teams for all of our business lines. The role will encompass process improvement, people management, project management, senior stakeholder communications and more. This role is based out of our NYC office. For jobs based out of our NYC HQ, we require in office attendance Tuesday through Thursday, weekly. Below we've reflected the base salary range we would offer for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. This job may also be eligible for variable compensation in the form of a company incentive bonus. A day in the life * Serve as Lead Project Manager for Operations projects which require technical knowledge of both Betterment products as well as Operations processes. Collaborate with a variety of teams including but not limited to product, engineering, legal and compliance to drive these projects to completion * Primary liaison and point of contact for vendor relationships with Betterment. Research and grow additional relationships with other companies/platforms accordingly * Manage a team of (6) associates; develop their career trajectories as thought partners in identifying and executing process improvements in Operations * Drive a culture of accountability, feedback, and continuous improvement. * Set clear performance expectations and development plans for direct reports. * Serve as the primary resource for metrics around Ops processes and deliverables. Manage meetings with respective teams and identify opportunities for growth and/or improvement both individually and as a team * Create reporting for the CEO and deliver status reports/metrics in standing meetings * Partner with current stakeholders to make sure the team is adequately trained to handle current deliverables * Work with Operations managers to build robust training programs and increase visibility so that opportunities to learn and advance skill sets are not siloed What we're looking for * 5+ years of operations experience in a highly regulated environment, preferably in financial services, wealth management, custody, or brokerage * 2+ years of people management experience with demonstrated success coaching early-career talent * Deep knowledge of KYC, asset transfer processes, and regulatory documentation requirements (preferred) * Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, drive change management, and build team engagement * Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage metrics to diagnose issues and measure improvement * Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills * Experience partnering with Risk, Compliance, or Legal teams a plus * Series 99 and SIE licenses (or willingness to obtain)
