Summary

The Role The Senior Manager, Customer Master Data will support Moderna's US Commercial Operations. This role is an exciting opportunity to be a critical part of the engine fueling a high growth organization that is radically changing the biotech industry. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting both the launch and ongoing management of the Customer Onboarding and Master Data. It is an exciting time to be part of the growing US Commercial Operations team at Moderna. We are driving a well-supported, technology enabled, strategy to re-imagine how Customers are onboarded to our systems and how our customer master data is managed in order to create a seamless experience for our customer while also driving value from and trust in our data. In this role, you will lead a team of data steward contractor(s) in the daily operations performing validation of customer records, maintaining customer master data to support both the customer experience as well as internal stakeholders of that data. This roles supports the Director, Business Process design in setting Customer master data policies and standards and manage the capacity in the Data Steward team to flex staffing levels based on business cycles and in response to technology improvements as Moderna moves to a digitized and automated customer onboarding process. This role will train and manage the data stewards by developing and documenting job aids to ensure we drive data standardization. This role will be a thought leader engaged in designing a re-imagined Customer Master Data process that solves many of the challenges of traditional master data management. This highly visible role is vital to Moderna's US Commercial Operations data strategy, will directly interface with other US Commercial functions to solve problems through great master data. Here's What You'll Do * Manage the day-to-day operation of a team of contractors in execution of the Customer Master Data Setup, Maintenance, and Inactivation processes. * Manage and prioritize the actions taken to investigate and resolve Customer Incidents driven by master data root causes. * Draft, align, deploy, and enforce master data maintenance standard procedures and work instructions * Contribute to the next generation of Customer master data management through identification of operational improvements to the Customer Authority Platform and any other master data related tools. * Contribute to the creation and maintenance of the metadata model in our Data Governance Platform (Collibra). * Evangelize the processes to key stakeholders including hosting trainings, providing on-demand support, and uncovering opportunities to drive increased engagement. Here's What You'll Need (Minimum Qualifications) * Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Data Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. * 3-5 years of hands-on experience in master data management, data modeling/architecture, data governance, analytics, or similar disciplines, with a proven track record of implementing data quality standards and governance practices. * 7+ years' experience in leading and mentoring teams, with demonstrated expertise in direct leadership as well as cross-functional collaboration and influence in matrixed environments. Here's What You'll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications) * 3-5 yrs experience in master data management or similar; Pharma/bio-tech/life sciences experience preferred. Bonus points for standing-up master data management processes from scratch * Willingness to "roll up your sleeves" and be hand's on * Experience with data governance solutions such as Collibra, Alation, or similar * Ability to map process workflows (ideally using BPMN), articulate data relationships/dependencies and understand the up/downstream connections between systems, business process, and data consumption * Impeccable business savvy and partnering skills to understand context/use cases, ask meaningful questions, provide fitting support, and gain commitment. Experience in both business and IT roles preferred * Familiarity with data regulations and requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, GxP/21 CFR Part 11 is a bonus * Well-organized & detail-driven with expertise in project & stakeholder management * Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity, poise, maturity, and precision both written and verbal * Entrepreneurial owner mindset, self-driven with a first principles approach to problem-solving * A willingness to challenge the status quo, drive culture change and collaborate with others * A desire to make an impact as part of a high-growth, transformational company that is Bold, Relentless, Curious, and Collaborative.
