Summary

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Integration Project Manager for a Contract position with a client located in Akron, Ohio (Hybrid).


Pay Range: $65/hr - $80/hr. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors

Job Description:

The project manager supports projects of various sizes, complexities, and durations. Works with various teams to ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget, and at the required level of quality.


Strategy & Planning

  • Work with partnering IT project managers and technical teams to define the scope of projects and create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project.
  • Ensure only strategically defined integration architecture concepts and patterns are compiled to and only approved designs are supported before permitting development to begin or during any remediation of development needed.
  • Support program phases and milestones that are dependent on integration enablement and validation, including design signoff, development completion, end-to-end testing, UAT testing, performance testing and tuning, implementation, and post go-live project hyper care.
  • Ensure continuous collaboration and planning with program owners to keep delivery on schedule, within scope, and on budget.
  • Monitor and evaluate program risks, issues, and decisions to evaluate how they may affect integration, delivery, scope, and/or budget. Raise concerns promptly with mitigation planning.
  • Coordinate planning and work closely with cross-functional project managers throughout all phases of the project.
  • Provide upper leadership with concise, meaningful project updates, including risk avoidance and mitigation plans.
  • Demonstrate a high standard for accountability of project deliverables, timelines, and outcomes.


Project Management

  • Successfully lead integration delivery projects within the IT Enterprise Services Team.
  • Consistently exhilarate a servant leader management style to our partnering IT Teams, our business customers, and your own delivery team while consistently demonstrating a ‘customer first’ mindset.
  • Proactively plan and monitor project deliverables against the planned schedule and resource allocation, keeping within budget.
  • Possess a disciplined approach to generating effective written project updates in the form of status reports and project plans.
  • Create project plans that include agile integration sprint plans owned by Enterprise Services, as well as representation of the collaborated larger Program plans that define all project phases with dependencies on integration delivery identified.
  • Establish a robust risk management process to ensure risks are effectively captured, analyzed, and addressed before they become issues. Define and document ‘get to green’ plans for active issues, and depending on the severity, inform/escalate to the director level for consultation/actions.
  • Manage and effectively communicate resource budget forecasts against time & materials contracts and predetermined budgets and scope.
  • Redirect new scope items with impact to budget and/or schedule through the demand intake process of Enterprise Services.
  • Demonstrate the ability to navigate and thrive in defining ambiguous requirements into workable solutions that meet customers’ needs.


Project Delivery

  • Manage the product backlog for enterprise integration solutions, working closely with stakeholders and the Scrum team to ensure that the team is focused on the highest value work.
  • Analyze requirements, work with the development team to provide estimates, and communicate these to stakeholders.
  • Write product release documentation and work with the team to manage release activities.
  • Plan and manage product releases of the enterprise integration solutions, coordinating with other teams as necessary.
  • Actively mitigate any impediments that are preventing the team from achieving their release/sprint goals.
  • Utilize your in-depth knowledge of AWS technologies to guide the development of cloud-based enterprise integration products and solutions.
  • Collaborate with Scrum masters to facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews/demos, and retrospectives.
  • Coordinate with other product owners and stakeholders to ensure alignment across the organization and manage dependencies.
  • Regularly review and report on product progress, financials, and release quality.
  • Engage and communicate with other key stakeholders and senior leaders across the organization to understand their needs and ensure alignment with product development activities.


Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree, and preferably a higher degree in a business or technical area of study.
  • Certifications in the following areas are preferred.
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner or beyond
  • PMI project management certifications
  • Agile scrum, product management, Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar certification is required.
  • Atlassian Jira Service Management (JSM) suite in project/product management


Knowledge & Experience

  • 10-15 years of experience in project management in managing complex projects with a supporting Agile Scrum team.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Must have experience in managing large, complex projects.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in managing agile teams.
  • Experience in cloud-based projects, especially with experience in integration and data models and migration
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner, with a strong grasp of Agile principles and methodologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of AWS and its service offerings, AWS certifications are preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering cloud-based enterprise integration solutions.
  • Proven ability to translate customer needs into user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Proven ability to navigate a diverse and complex stakeholder environment, including communication with senior leaders.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, coupled with effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • High-to-expert proficiency level in project management tools, including Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Roadmaps, SharePoint, MS Teams).
