Job Description: This person will join the growing MPS Detroit Field Applications team, serving as the technical support for firmware and contact for key MPS accounts in the Detroit area. The main responsibility of this position is to engage with key customers and secure design wins incorporating MPS products and services. The FAE is also responsible for defining and sharing current and emerging customer technical needs to improve tactical and strategic product positioning. This person will develop firmware for USB PD, wireless charging, high-voltage (<900V) applications (Inverter, DC-DC charger etc) and other general purpose firmware like CAN/LIN/NFC etc. Essential Functions: * Contribute to MPS US Revenue growth through direct and in-direct technical activities. * Develop a solid technical understanding of our products and relevant solutions. * Provide deep technical support to customers to meet or improve upon customer's requirements with MPS products, specifically firmware programs for USB PD controller, Qi controller of <50W wireless chargers. * Identify and develop new business opportunities to grow MPS business. * Gather potential market moves and competitors' activities for MPS product strategy. Qualifications: * BSEE/MSEE with 5+ years firmware development for power electronics or automotive applications * Proficient in structured firmware programming (C/C++, assembly, script languages) * Ability to interface directly with customers and solve customer problems. * Ability to work independently with strong analytical skills, self-motivated and excellent interpersonal skills. * Ability to communicate at all levels written and oral. * Oral /written proficiency in English. * Willing to drive to local customers and spend time in lab as needed.
