The right candidate will have a solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles in the United States (US GAAP) and will be responsible for month end closing procedures including the preparation of general ledger journal entries, account reconciliation and variance analysis as well as properly reconciling IC and resolving any discrepancies.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following roles and responsibilities are an integral part of the position:
Participate in month-end closing of the GL and ensures the integrity of the related accounting.
Responsible for all GL activities including journal entries, supporting documentation and account reconciliation.
Conduct financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making and drive business performance.
Review/analyze work to ensure quality including completeness and accuracy.
Perform sales/order and cost analysis to understand and ensure accuracy of financial results.
Perform P&L, balance sheet and cash flow variance analysis to ensure reliability of financial results.
Responsible for completion of general ledger account reconciliations using Blackline.
Responsible for all supporting documentation for accounts, journal entries and control procedures.
Responsible for performing variance analysis including understanding and documentation of variance drivers.
Coordination with shared services function to endure timely and accurate exchange of data for closing.
Coordination with key functional partners at the site, BU and corporate levels.
Continuous improvement orientation – identify opportunities for improvement and implement fixes.
Participate in the monthly forecast preparation and annual business plan preparation.
Perform internal control procedures, maintain documentation, test controls periodically.
Support timely and efficient performance of internal and external audit procedures as needed.
Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to build and maintain dynamic forecasting models and annual budgets within ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Maintain current understanding of all company accounting policies and procedures.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred.
5 years of position-related experience is required; distribution experience is valued.
Knowledge of US GAAP and previous experience in a plant accounting role.
Hands-on experience with Epicor CMS, Blackline, advanced Excel, PowerBI and Tagetik is highly preferred.
Excellent communication skills with strong data analysis experience.
