ABOUT SINGULAR GENOMICS
Singular Genomics is inventing at the forefront of genomics, one of the world's fastest-growing industries. The commercially available G4 Sequencing Platform is a powerful, highly versatile benchtop genomic sequencer designed to produce fast and accurate results. In addition, the company is currently developing the G4X Spatial Sequencer, an upgrade to the G4, which will leverage Singular's proprietary sequencing technology, applying it as an in situ readout for transcriptomics, proteomics and fluorescent H&E in tissue, with spatial context. Singular Genomics' mission is to empower researchers and clinicians to advance science and medicine.
We foster a culture of creativity and technical excellence, both catalysts for innovation. We celebrate diversity, emphasize collaboration and, as we rapidly mature, we are constantly looking at ways we can do better for our people.
Our Headquarters are located on the Torrey Pines Mesa, in La Jolla, California at the center of the biotech hub. Our Manufacturing facility is in Sorrento Valley.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Field Bioinformatics Specialist to support our innovative high-throughput in situ multiomics platform, the G4X during its early commercialization phase. In this critical technical role, you will primarily engage in spatial bioinformatics pipeline development, provide expert analytical support to customers, facilitate spatial biology projects, deliver customer trainings, troubleshoot complex technical challenges, interface with key opinion leaders (KOLs), and provide pre-sales technical support. The role will include minor support for sequencing-related workflows (~5%).
Responsibilities:
* Provide in-depth bioinformatics support, assisting customers in experimental design, data generation, analysis, and interpretation from data generated with our cutting-edge spatial multiomics platform.
* Develop, optimize, and maintain bioinformatics pipelines tailored primarily for spatial multiomics datasets using advanced spatial bioinformatics tools, enhancing analysis efficiency and accuracy.
* Lead technical troubleshooting efforts, resolving bioinformatics and computational challenges to ensure seamless customer experiences.
* Conduct comprehensive customer training sessions and workshops, ensuring proficient use of our bioinformatics solutions and spatial workflows, and maximizing customer satisfaction.
* Collaborate on spatial biology projects, assisting in experimental validation, data analysis, and presentation of outcomes to scientific and commercial stakeholders.
* Interface with KOLs and industry experts to foster productive collaborations, gather critical feedback, and support product development and market adoption.
* Help manage and support partnerships with tertiary analysis providers.
* Assist the commercial team with pre-sales activities, including customer presentations, scientific consultations, technical demonstrations, and participation in scientific conferences.
* Act as a crucial bridge between customers and internal R&D teams, translating customer needs into actionable product enhancements.
* Maintain and update user guides, technical documentation, and educational materials to support customer training and ongoing platform use.
* Lead live demonstrations and presentations showcasing bioinformatics and spatial analysis capabilities to potential and existing customers.
* Provide occasional support for sequencing workflows, including basic QC analysis and troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
* PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or a closely related discipline is required.
* Minimum 5 years' direct experience in bioinformatics, specifically with spatial transcriptomics, single-cell technologies, or related spatial multiomics applications.
* Demonstrable expertise in pipeline development, optimization, and data analysis workflows for large-scale spatial multiomics data, proficient in programming languages (Python, R) and specialized bioinformatics tools (e.g., Scanpy, Squidpy, Seurat).
* Previous customer-facing experience, including technical support, training, troubleshooting, or pre-sales technical engagements is strongly preferred.
* Strong biology or immunology background a must.
* Strong understanding of single-cell sequencing methods, spatial transcriptomics, in situ sequencing, and related methodologies.
* Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
* Highly organized, proactive, and capable of independently managing multiple technical projects simultaneously in a dynamic commercial environment.
Location & Travel: This position is field-based, requiring frequent travel to customer sites for seminars, scientific conferences, and headquarters for internal meetings.
