Roles and Responsibilities: -
- Evaluate and select tooling for machining based on material, machine, and production requirements.
- Collaborate with production team to optimize tooling processes for efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Work with suppliers to source and procure tooling, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality standards.
- Assist in setting up tooling on CNC machines and conduct trial runs.
- Ensure proper tool alignment, offsets, and machine parameter adjustments.
- Monitor tool wear and evaluate tool life.
- Implement predictive and preventive maintenance programs for tooling.
- Analyze machining processes to identify areas for improvement in tool performance.
- Recommend changes to cutting parameters (e.g., speed, feed rate, depth of cut).
- Maintain records of tooling specifications, design changes, and performance metrics.
- Provide training to CNC operators on tool handling and usage.
- Maintain an organized inventory of tools and spare parts.
Qualification
- Minimum 5 - 15 years of experience in machined component manufacturing or a related field.
- Experience in 5 axis CNC machining
- Proficiency in understanding complex manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of CNC machining principles and cutting tool technologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with materials and their machinability (e.g., steel, aluminum, titanium).
- Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
