Fisher Dynamics is currently seeking a Sr. Electrical Technician for our Saint Clair Shores, MI campus. This position is responsible for electronic control equipment and apparatus as associated with automated machine tools, servo-mechanism, etc., of complex and involved design requiring broad technical knowledge of electro-mechanical principles and equipment design plus specialized skills and techniques.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Diagnose & Troubleshoot machinery and equipment, make needed repairs
  • Work closely with engineers and mechanics on the installation of new equipment
  • Assist in change-over of plant layout that may requiring the movement of machines and control equipment
  • Wire machinery, enclosures and control panels
  • Diagnose machine issues using various software programs to automate the machines
  • Read electrical schematics and other documents to diagnose and repair machinery and equipment
  • Communicate with co-workers and others to carry out job duties
  • Various other duties as required by the department

Education

Formal training leading to Electrician status in Machine Repair and/or equivalent on the job experience

Experience

Eight+ years of experience

Skills

Software programming (Emerson / GE Proficy, RS Logic 500 & 5000, AutoCad, FactoryTalk View, Panel Builder, Cognex Dataman, Cognex InSight, Keyence Auto ID Network, Keyence IV Navigator)

Advanced equipment troubleshooting skills

Knowledge of IATF16949 & ISO 14001

Ability to operate multimeters, hole knockouts, switch testers, solder stations, amp probes, engraves, and electric drills

Knowledge of electrical schematic reading

Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic systems sufficient to diagnose and repair machines

Communication skills to communicate and interact with all levels of employees

Computer skills and math skills sufficient to perform department related tasks are required

Licensure

Valid driver’s license, hi-lo license

Safety

Safety glasses and hearing protection required. Other safety equipment required on an as needed basis.

Physical Demands

Working environment and physical requirements of this position are those typical of a manufacturing environment. Job requires very frequent visual effort and concentration, and the ability to move in and around equipment and machinery throughout the plant(s), including second story areas. This may include climbing on, in and around locked out machinery and equipment. Must be able to identify colors for purposes of executing machine and equipment repairs. The ability to lift 40 pounds is required.
