Come join us! **Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:** + Capable of assisting the Resident Engineer o Electrical Quality Assurance and Source inspection Office in all aspects of required field Electrical Construction Inspection/Quality Assurance services. + Understand client and customer needs + Operate within the customers' safety protocols at all times + Complete all required documentation including Inspector's Daily Reports on a daily basis + Must be capable of performing inspection for quality workmanship, including field measurements of construction materials and products + Monitor construction Contractor's quality control operations, traffic control operations and monitor any special environmental contract requirements + Identify changes, errors or field adjustments to the contract documents and recommend action to the Resident Engineer + Monitor Prevailing Wage laws, regulations, and labor compliance **Minimum requirements:** + Graduation from a four (4) year curriculum in civil engineering + Possession of a valid certificate as an Engineer-in-Training + A documented minimum ten (10) years of demonstrated experience in construction inspection of highways or major public works projects + OR + A documented minimum ten (10) years of demonstrated experience in Electrical construction inspection of highways or major public works projects + AND + Experience working with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) standards, specifications, and Construction Manual and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) procedures + Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Must meet internal requirements for operation of company vehicles throughout duration of employment and must maintain a valid driver's license and insurable driving record. + Must be willing and able to travel to job sites, sometimes for extended periods. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams. + Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, visual acuity, accommodation, and color vision + Moving, carrying, and lifting objects in excess of 50 pounds + Working extended hours and standing for extended periods of time + Working in indoor and outdoor environments in conditions of extreme heat and cold **Technical requirements:** + Effective written, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team involving staff, clients and outside agencies + Proficient using Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) and AutoCAD + Strong problem-solving skills, including identifying data quality issues + Strong organizational skills, including an ability to prioritize activities and work with limited supervision + Results oriented and able to complete tasks on deadline with little supervision + Ability to make good decisions using sound, professional judgment **Other miscellaneous qualities:** + Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
