Electrical engineers at Sierra Nevada Corporation research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll conceptualize and design new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle from analog and digital electronic circuit card assemblies to fully integrated systems. In this role, you will have a unique opportunity to support system design, develop mitigation strategies, and evaluate systems in major military platforms against the following nuclear threat environments: electromagnetic pulse, ionizing radiation, non-ionizing radiation, thermal radiation, and air-blast. Your main responsibility will be evaluating the performance of electrical components, circuit cards, and systems within these environments. Candidate should be extremely comfortable with the use of electrical equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, sodering, etc) A background in nuclear effects is not necessary, however EMI/EMC and/or software backgrounds would be highly desired. **Responsibilities** + Identify measurable metrics for determining electrical performance + Generate functional Test Plans / Reports + Lead test evolutions with little oversight + Troubleshoot issues with test setups + Articulate failures and determine solutions **Qualifications You Must Have:** + Bachelor's Degree in a related field, and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience -Higher education may substitute for relevant experience -Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education + Able to effectively and clearly communicate complex regulatory requirements and solutions + ITAR, EAR, FTR + Experience analyzing and interpreting federal rules and regulations + Knowledge of piece-part level functions for various technologies (MOSFETs, Op Amps, Comparators, FPGAs, ASICs) + Ability to generate test plans for component through system level testing + Comfortable with electronics support equipment + Experience in circuit design + Able to troubleshoot test setup and EMI issues + Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance **Qualifications We Prefer:** + Proficient knowledge of ITAR & EAR concepts + Thorough understanding of customs processes and compliance + Advanced knowledge of OCR EASE, DTRADE/DECCS, SNAP-R, Customs ACE + Experience conducting export control classifications and jurisdiction reviews + Nuclear Effects background + Knowledgeable in MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-3023 + Ability to perform basic coding + Experience in circuit level modeling tools + Active Top Secret clearance At Sierra Nevada Company, LLC (SNC) we deliver customer-focused technology and best-of-breed integrations in the aerospace and defense sectors. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
