Summary

The Low Voltage Hardware team designs the electrical "nervous system" of Tesla products. Our circuit boards control hundreds of devices (motors, sensors, LEDs, etc) across all electrical systems (seats, doors, HVAC, powertrain, safety, chassis, lighting, etc) in Tesla vehicles & robots. * Start-to-finish hardware ownership: Specification, architecture, design, simulation, schematic, layout supervision, manufacturing, bringup, and validation of circuit boards * Collaborate with PCB layout, firmware, mechanical, program management, and validation teams * Thoroughly document design requirements, calculations, validation results, etc. * Rapidly iterate as design requirements and product features mature over time * Circuit board design (Altium preferred) * Strong understanding of analog & digital circuits (MOSFETs, op-amps, switching regulators, gate drivers, microcontrollers, SPI, I2C, component selection, power dissipation, etc.) * Exceptional organization and communication skills (both written and verbal) * Ability to tackle open-ended challenges using first-principles * Proficiency with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, electronic loads, etc.) * Experience shipping high-volume circuit boards * Basic programming ability (Python preferred) * Knowledge of automotive design requirements * Design for autonomous vehicles (fail-safe redundancy) * Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
