Overview

THE ROLE:

The Senior Director, Worldwide Brand Marketing will own and activate critical aspects of the Herbalife global brand. This includes global brand positioning and pillars, global creative, content and social strategy. This is a high-profile role within the corporate and global organization. The Senior Director, Brand Marketing will be in charge of guiding, collaborating with, and aligning with key senior collaborators across the organization and in the regions. They will work cross functionally with Worldwide Product Marketing, Worldwide Creative Services, Corporate Communications, Worldwide Sales and others in crafting and implementing a change agenda to build Herbalife into a global lifestyle and wellness brand. This Senior Director will engage and lead world class partners and resources to deliver outstanding brand assets that align with our purpose and that are admired by our Distributors, Customers, Elite Stakeholders and the public. They will serve as a global brand ambassador, driving to ensure flawless global execution and will own brand governance.

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:

  • Work directly with the CMO to define, refine and implement a global strategic brand positioning that leverages our Distributor difference and helps create a global health & wellness lifestyle brand. Owns and activates supporting brand pillars and stories (e.g., Distributor difference; Quality & Science; Customer Goals; Wellness Philosophy; Sustainability, etc).
  • As necessary, identifies and leads world class strategic, creative, and internal (e.g., Worldwide Creative Services) partners to define/refine brand and creative strategy, including brand look and feel, design aesthetics, global expression. Includes creative architecture and adaptation for Herbalife’s various audiences (e.g., Distributors, Customers, Elite partners) and messages (Distributor difference, Quality & Science, Seed to Feed, Customer Goals, Wellness Philosophy, etc).
  • Leads global roll-out, adaptation and governance of new brand strategy & platform, leading Corporate and Regional teams to ensure brand positioning, story, creative strategy, look & feel, etc., are well understood and can be practically applied at all levels of the organization. Builds global brand training & education, workshops, etc. to drive compliance and knowledge.
  • Connects to Herbalife’s business model and go-to-market strategy and weaves this unique point of difference into all strategic brand & creative work.
  • Works with WW Sales & WW Events teams to drive global brand platform & story into all aspects of Herbalife’s meetings, events, recognitions, etc.
  • Convert Strategic Plans into actionable programs and projects
  • Lead and develop comprehensive content plan that delivers on strategic business goals delivering brand content consistently across all channels
  • Leads Corporate social strategy and team to deliver on brand storytelling and build brand equity
  • Influences WW Product Marketing, Innovation, Corporate Communications, Digital and other Communication-driven functions to integrate global brand and creative strategy across Product Strategy, Corporate Communications Strategies, Education & Training Strategies, etc.
  • Works with and integrates Worldwide and Regional Marketing & Sales efforts behind brand and creative strategy.
  • Acts as brand Ambassador throughout Herbalife’s ecosystem. Deeply engages key constituents including CEO/Senior Management, Distributors & Distributor Leadership and “on the ground” Distributors through their daily methods of operation (DMOs), e.g., Nutrition Clubs, Fit Clubs, etc.
  • Ensures ongoing communication of critical information and best practices across regions to facilitate and strengthen strategic plan execution
  • Provides key brand health performance indicators to senior management to drive business decisions
  • Additional duties as assigned

Manages Directors, Sr Managers as direct reports

Qualifications

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • 12+ years of global brand management experience in a traditional Consumer Packaged Goods company or 12+ years combination experience in a global CPG company/global advertising agency.
  • Substantial experience in lifestyle, health, wellness, beauty, and/or food branding
  • Demonstrated experience leading global brand & creative strategy across multiple regions/countries
  • Proven ability leading the brand and creative strategic process, e.g., developing brand positioning, identifying/uncovering core insights, leading creative platform development, executing in market, etc.
  • Experience working across a matrixed organization and proven influencing skills for senior management
  • Experience leading a multi-disciplinary team with competing priorities and different skills
  • Proven experience developing and leading teams and people. Demonstrated success leading global agencies in strategy and/or creative.
  • Demonstrated success in building a global brand change agenda
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field
  • Cross-functional team management experience, collaborating closely with other commercial functions to achieve common goals
  • Commercial acumen: proven ability of deeply understand a brand/company business model as part of the brand promise
  • Strong and visionary leadership, organizational and team management skills that demonstrate the ability to be a good listener, encourage, provide clear direction, make sound decisions and multi-task
  • Strong analytical, critical, strategic and creative thinking
  • Hard-working, results oriented with a sense of urgency and a passion to win
  • Excellent communication and problem solving
  • Proactive leader with strong personal presence
  • Ability to elicit accountability from other departments and own team
