Job Title: Sr. Director of IT

Type: Direct Hire

Candidates must reside in the Greater Austin, TX area.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or commiserate experience
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of IT experience, with at least seven (7) years in a leadership role
  • Proven experience in IT security strategy, governance, and compliance with industry standards
  • Demonstrated ability to merge technical expertise with strategic business partnerships skills
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills
  • Extraordinary technical skills and In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies
  • Experience with M&A, acquisition integrations, divestitures, and carve outs

Big Bonus Points If You Have

  • Proven experience as a Dir of IT, VP of IT, CIO, or similar managerial role
  • Expertise in SaaS, cloud computing (Azure preferred), and enterprise architecture
  • Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML trends and their application in operational efficiency, process automation, predictive analytics, and business intelligence
  • Strong change management skills
  • Ability to think, engage, and communicate at all levels of the organization from technical teams to board-level

Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned, strategic IT leader with deep technical expertise to build and scale an agile, high-performing IT function in support of the company as it continues to grow. The ideal candidate will have broad experience in managing distributed IT teams, the selection, implementation, and optimization of enterprise (ERP/CRM) solutions, particularly within the Microsoft Business Central ecosystem, deep knowledge of cloud and on-premises infrastructure and IT service management, proven experience in IT integration for M&A, including due diligence and post-merger system consolidation, and a relentless focus to implement sustainable and repeatable processes. Using these skills, the leader will help partner with the business leaders to ensure the company’s IT capabilities scale as the company enters its next chapter of growth.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Enterprise and Business Systems

  • Experience leading enterprise-scale software implementations, particularly within the Microsoft ecosystem, and ensuring interoperability across business-critical applications. The role requires expertise in integrating core systems to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and enhance the overall IT strategy.
  • Core Systems:
    • Cloud Platforms: Microsoft Azure
    • Productivity & Collaboration: Microsoft Office 365
    • ERP: Microsoft Business Central
    • Standalone SaaS Applications: ServiceBridge, Pool Studios, BuilderTrend
    • CAD/Design Systems: Pool Studios
    • In-house customer management solution leveraging ColdFusion and MS SQL Server
  • Lead enterprise systems strategy, ensuring optimal performance and integration within the Microsoft Business Central ecosystem
  • Oversee the implementation of a consistent set of processes and governance frameworks for project and change management
  • Provide stewardship for the company’s data and formalize data governance and KPI and metrics with business stakeholders and ensure the use of consistent analytics across the company
  • Lead a team(s) of system administrators, architects, implementation, and development resources to ensure the continued return on investment in the company’s tools, and back-office solutions
  • Lead framework development for build-vs-buy analysis, governance of customizations and third-party tool selection review and criteria for the company’s critical and non-critical systems
  • Create and facilitate change control board to enable cross-functional visibility and prioritization across the organization

Infrastructure, IT Service Management and End-User Computing

  • Optimize cloud migration strategy, ensuring scalability and security in alignment with Microsoft Azure and Business Central. In addition, manage the company’s on-premise infrastructure
  • Be responsible for the company’s end-user computing environment including company-furnished and BYOD (bring your own device) models
  • Ensure frameworks such as ITIL are used for measurement and monitoring of the IT teams capabilities and performance
  • Develop and implement an enterprise-wide IT architecture strategy that standardizes applications, enhances security, and improves operational efficiency. in support of organic and inorganic growth
  • Establish, with the company’s procurement functions, all IT vendor management processes, measurements, and management framework
  • Establish strategic guidance with regards to unified communications, virtual collaboration and meetings, and remote work
  • Act as a liaison with technical IT teams and the company’s security function to ensure the optimal deployment of technical security controls across the company’s infrastructure and end-user environments
  • Oversee third party vendors providing custom development of in-house applications and configuration/integration with enterprise applications

Security and Compliance

  • Responsible for all aspects of technical security ensuring that appropriate tools, processes, and organization are in place to support appropriate cybersecurity prevention, detection, and response measures are in place
  • Co-own security governance processes and technology with the company’s security organization
  • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards, including SOC, GDPR, CCPA, industry best practices, and other relevant security standard
  • Support the company in other security or compliance related activities such as audits, certifications and investigations

Data, Analytics and Visualization

  • Responsible for the company’s enterprise data model and the organizations of IT and business teams to support consistent adoption
  • Own the tools, organization, and technical roadmap for the use and exploitation of the company’s data for it’s competitive advantage
  • Partner with company leadership and business stakeholders to develop critical and high-priority metrics and KPI’s, ensuring consistent, data-driven decision-making across the organization

Job Requisition # 39420

A reasonable estimate of the Base Salary for this role is $150,000 - $195,000 per year plus bonus. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
