Summary/Objective: We are looking for a forward-thinking Senior Director of Engineering & UX to lead the development of next-generation websites and applications that power digital experiences across our multi-brand fitness portfolio. This role combines technical leadership with strategic influence and requires someone who can shape modern digital solutions while working seamlessly across engineering, UX, AI, and cybersecurity. Ideal candidates bring hands-on expertise, a product-minded approach, and a strong track record of building and scaling high-performing teams from the ground up. This role is pivotal in delivering secure, scalable, and intuitive digital platforms that serve both members and franchise operators. Pay Range: $225,000 - $250,000 Key Responsibilities: Engineering & Architecture Leadership * Guide full-stack architecture and implementation across web, mobile, APIs, and supporting backend systems. * Introduce and advocate for modern engineering practices-cloud-native design, microservices, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps approaches. * Align engineering efforts with evolving technology standards to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance across platforms. UX/UI Strategy and Execution * Lead the UX/UI function with a focus on delivering intuitive, brand-consistent, and accessible digital experiences. * Champion user research, usability testing, and design system adoption to enhance engagement and conversion. AI, Cybersecurity & Innovation Alignment * Collaborate with AI and Innovation teams to embed intelligent features such as personalization, automation, and insights into core digital experiences. * Partner with Cybersecurity to ensure secure-by-design practices, compliance with data protection standards, and proactive threat mitigation. Vendor & Delivery Model Management * Oversee a hybrid delivery model of internal teams and external vendors, ensuring alignment on quality, architecture, and velocity. * Support the transition of capabilities in-house over time, while maintaining delivery excellence and flexibility in the short term. Cross-Functional Collaboration * Work closely with product, marketing, operations, and brand teams to align technical roadmaps with business goals. * Ensure engineering and UX deliverables contribute meaningfully to brand growth, member engagement, and operational efficiency. Qualifications: * 12+ years of experience in software engineering, including 5+ years leading full-stack engineering and UX/UI teams in high-growth environments. * Demonstrated experience building teams and functions from the ground up, including defining structure, hiring talent, and setting technical direction. * Deep understanding of modern architectures: cloud-native platforms, microservices, API-first design, DevOps practices, and responsive web/mobile frameworks. * Proven ability to lead teams through the design, development, and delivery of complex digital applications at scale. * Experience working with AI/ML teams and integrating intelligent features into web and mobile platforms. * Strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, secure development practices, and collaboration across risk/compliance functions. * Ability to drive quality assurance and testing strategy, including automation, performance monitoring, and release governance. * Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills and executive presence, with experience influencing at the senior leadership level. * Comfortable managing hybrid delivery teams, including vendor partnerships and globally distributed contributors.
