The Opportunity
We're looking for a Sr. DevOps Engineer I to join our team in Austin or remote.
Come join a globally distributed team of talented DevOps engineers working with Planview's flagship Portfolios product. Planview Portfolios is Planview's Enterprise Portfolio and Work Management solution. It orchestrates all work and resources dynamically through integrated portfolios across projects, programs, people, products, technology, and capabilities,
within a common user experience.
Our DevOps Engineers are passionate about automation and infrastructure in the cloud. They work closely with our Development and Operations teams to advise on best practices, and help to create secure, scalable, and manageable solutions in our production environments. Their diverse skillset allows them to design, develop, and debug our build and deployment automation solutions.
What You'll Do
* Collaborate with Cloud Operations on cloud infrastructure, and application deployments
* Design, build and improve upon existing CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
* Triage and remediate production infrastructure, and application issues when needed
* Develop and/or discover technologies and strategies that can be leveraged to improve our workflows and increase operational efficiency
* Mentor junior team members and review their work as required
* Participate in on-call rotation as point of escalation for Cloud Operations team
What You'll Bring
* Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent experience in related field
* Five or more years of programming or scripting experience (e.g. C#, Groovy, Python)
* Advanced experience with services offered by major cloud infrastructure providers (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)
* Solid experience with configuration management and infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation, Packer)
* Proficiency in version control systems (e.g. Git) and branching strategies
* Hands on experience with monitoring and alerting tools / services (e.g. New Relic, Sumo Logic)
* Extensive experience supporting customer-facing production resources
* Experience administering Linux environments
* Familiarity with Agile and Lean software development principles
* Advanced knowledge of CI/CD practices, including pipeline optimization and automated testing
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* The following qualifications are highly preferred, although not explicitly required
* Previous experience in an engineering/development role
* Practical knowledge of containerization and container orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
* Windows Server system administration experience
