About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join a rapidly growing data team focused on building, scaling, and optimizing data pipelines and analytics infrastructure. This team plays a central role in transforming complex, high-volume datasets into actionable insights that support strategic business initiatives. This is a net-new role, created as part of continued investment in modern data architecture and advanced analytics.

You will contribute directly to the development and enhancement of cloud-native data systems, leveraging your expertise in Snowflake, AWS services, and Python to build robust, scalable solutions. This position is ideal for candidates who thrive in fast-paced, hands-on environments and who are passionate about modern data engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build robust, scalable data pipelines using Python and Airflow
  • Develop ETL/ELT workflows to integrate data from diverse internal and external sources
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable data-driven decision making
  • Maintain and optimize data warehouse infrastructure using Snowflake
  • Work within a DevOps-driven framework using GitHub Actions and Terraform to automate infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines
  • Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and validation processes
  • Participate in the enablement of AWS services through modular infrastructure code (Terraform)
  • Leverage best practices in metadata management and data governance
  • Stay informed about emerging tools and Snowflake features, including those related to AI/ML and advanced analytics
  • Support business partners by building tools, dashboards, and reusable data models that simplify access to insights

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–7+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Snowflake (production-level use, not just POCs)
  • AWS (S3, RDS, Aurora, Lambda, SNS, SQS, EventBridge)
  • Python for building ETL/ELT pipelines and Lambda functions
  • SQL for data extraction, transformation, and querying
  • Apache Airflow for orchestration (experience building DAGs in Python)
  • Familiarity with GitHub Actions for CI/CD
  • Understanding of infrastructure-as-code concepts; Terraform experience is a strong plus
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and ownership mindset
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and contribute to a collaborative team culture

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with advanced analytics tools or working alongside data science teams
  • Exposure to Snowflake Cortex, AI/ML features, or text-to-SQL functionality
  • Background in industries with regulated data environments (e.g., retail, distribution, logistics)
  • Prior experience enabling infrastructure modules in AWS via Terraform

Work Environment & Culture

The team is collaborative, hands-on, and passionate about delivering business value through data. There’s a strong emphasis on accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement. Engineers are empowered to manage their own infrastructure and contribute to high-impact initiatives from the ground up.
