What To Expect
The Data Center Design Engineering team is responsible for designing and developing efficient and reliable electrical systems for our data centers. As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful design, operation, and maintenance of our electrical infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, power consumption data analytics, field operations, and project management, to drive design efficiencies, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

What You'll Do

  • Review and analyze electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs) for data centers to ensure compliance with industry standards and OCP guidelines
  • Develop greenfield data center design concepts, including electrical system designs, load calculations, and power system analysis
  • Identify inefficiencies in electrical system designs and propose cost-effective solutions to reduce CAPEX costs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define business requirements for reporting and formulate applicable data-driven solutions
  • Provide electrical engineering support and training to facility technicians to troubleshoot, operate, and maintain existing electrical equipment and controllers
  • Drive electrical distribution improvement and resiliency projects with system risk analysis techniques, power monitoring data, and other advanced detection methods
  • Troubleshoot power quality and electrical system problems, conduct breaker coordination, arc flash studies, and track electrical load and capacity planning
  • Utilize industry-standard software and tools, such as Autodesk AutoCAD or Revit, to design and analyze electrical systems


  • What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on data center design
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Strong knowledge of OCP standards, industry best practices, and data center design principles
  • Experience with electrical single-line diagrams, load calculations, and power system analysis
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to travel to Fremont, CA, less than 25%
  • Familiarity with data analytics and power consumption modeling
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies, such as power shelves, battery backup units, super capacitors
