About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Controls Engineer to join our Control Systems & Automation team. This position offers hands-on experience in automation, control systems, and industrial communication protocols, working with Siemens platform. The ideal candidate should have at least 7 years prior experience in PLC programming specifically in Siemens products like TIA Portal and WinCC.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the development, commissioning and testing of control systems for frac equipment.
Develop and integrate PLC-based control solutions, including ladder logic programming.
Work with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, UDP/TCP, CAN, Profinet) for system integration.
Support hardware setup, wiring, and sensor integration for lab or field test environments.
Program and commission VFDs
Analyze and document test results, control strategies, and performance metrics.
Collaborate with engineers to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
Travel 25%
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with Siemens PLC programming and HMI development
Knowledge of control communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, CAN, j1939, Profinet, etc.).
Strong experience in process control
Experience with sensors, actuators, pumps. VFDs and other industrial automation hardware is a plus.
Experience with low/medium voltage
Experience with controlling hydraulic systems
Must be able to contribute to hardware design
Proficient in reading hydraulic, electrical and P&ID drawings
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Bonus Skills:
Knowledge of real-time control systems and embedded programming.
Familiarity with National Instruments (NI) cRIO hardware and software architecture.
Familiarity with SCADA systems and industrial data acquisition.
Familiarity with frac equipment
Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for control system modeling.
